Through balls

Does anyone know if they have been changed so that one has to do a completely different thing than in PES6 to play a proper through ball?

I mean if I just use the normal button they are a complete mess. Often WAY to little power and being played right to the oposition. I realise that I can hold down the button a little longer for a more powerfull through ball, but still sometimes the short ones are played long even though a player is close.
It makes no sense and at the moment seems to destroy the game for me. I can't make any proper moves! They are constantly destroyed by a ridiculous through ball.
In short it works HORRIBLE!
Anyone else having the same problem or know if things can be done in an other way? (I know of the manual pass, but I think it is a bit tricky to use. And I really liked the old through balls)

i don't have a lot problems with this, although they should make the passing more logical/clearer.
(Also lots of "bad" passes are just because a defender is covering some of the area in between just before he actually passes, and that often results in passes going into another path then planned)

And holding the direction untill the pass really happens is also an adivce that can help some, cuzz sometimes when you push pass-button you have to wait a bit untill he kicks/passes it. Sometimes i was already moving my direction button too early after pushing the button and that resulted in a lot of passes going into a whole other direction...

Fifa sorted the passing out really well (one of the few things i really like about it)

I have a feeling that something was changed with the automatic passes(pass and through-ball) as the manual pass is now easier than ever.

I had a few of the problems you mentioned, especially after playing PES6 and & for so long, and found that using manual pass worked a lot more consistently for me.

I sometimes have this problem, but usually only in defence. For example, if my centre-back has the ball and I want to play a through ball out wide for my side-back to run on to, it'll often be a ridiculously weak pass he plays that goes nowhere near where I wanted it to, and the opposition forward latches on to it.

I think that this year you can really use through balls effectivelly. I mean I can make a long through ball without having it stopped by the defenders every time, like last year. I use it a lot, with good results....

come on mates!
you can't even play a match in the easiest levels and then you say it's a problem in the game?
I can use the through balls perfectly in here.
