The TV Show Thread

Just started Season 2 now as by the time me and Mrs get to the end we should be inline to watch the final episode the day it goes live.
It probably the 2nd best TV show I watched in the past few years (Shogun easily wins) and I hope they finish it properly instead of doing what American TV always does which is drag it out as much as possible until people stop watching and it abruptly ends.
Be interested to get your thoughts on the last episode of Severance. Jury is out for me, watched it after going out for a curry and the Mrs fell asleep so no doubt have to watch it again tonight 😂

Watched the final episode last night.
Thought it went exactly as expected with Innie Mark choosing not to go with Gemma and staying with Helly after he rescued her.
The season overall was decent but don't think it quite hit the same as the opening season but then I feel this season was fleshed out quite a lot and gave a lot of well needed back story to a lot of the characters missing from Season 1.

Will be good to find out now what they plan to do with Season 3, as does Mark decide to ever leave the Severance floor as he knows next time he does he will never return.

Mr Milcheck will probably be replaced next season as he made too many errors this season and he will surely get fired.
Devon, Gemma and Mrs Cobel will try new ways to bring down Lumon and will probably feature quite a lot in the next season and probably become major characters.

Hopefully don't have to wait too long till the next season and that they have written another 1 or 2 seasons to finish the show properly rather than just keep going and going till they have no viewers.

Also although spoiled - I didn't want to go too much into detail as people haven't probably seen it.

Mr Inbetween has got to be one of the funniest and weirdest stuff ive seen in a while.
If youve seen it, the scene where his daughter walks in on him having sex and then trying to explain what sex is, top stuff

Finally got into Squid Game, some Money Heist vibes as the first season is incredibly strong and the later ones are fine, but kind of struggling to recatch that lightning in a bottle which made the first one so good. But I still have about 4 eps left, let's see.

HBO Max is now included in a different subscription I have so I naturally went to see what all the Peacemaker hubbub is about. It is a very funny show and James Gunn + computer generated animals is a match made in heaven - I know he isn't drawing those graphics himself but nothing really comes close today in that regard. His style is becoming very Josh Whedony - not that they write in the same way but you can hear a couple of lines and instantly know that Gunn wrote them. Still, like I said, it is very funny and unlike say, Guardians 2, a vast majority of the jokes land.
Also interesting that season 2 is like a direct sequel to the Superman movie but so agressively 18+ that a lot of the Superman audience should really not be watching. Season 2 also has a thing that is honestly getting terribly tired in today's superhero media:
a version of a multiverse.
I haven't seen him in much else but I think Gunn has made John Cena a very decent actor, that one feels worth noting.
