The TV Show Thread

TVRage doesn't seem very reliable then. Just tried Placebo's suggested app and adding "The Ultimate Fighter" lists it as a returning series. Which is wrong considering the first episode of S12 was yesterday.

Any other Windows apps? I've got one for my Android phone but it doesn't save the data to my SD card so when I try new roms out, I have to manually enter my shows again.

What sort of show is Parks & Recreation? I heard about it, but opted for Community instead.

It's a lot like the Office in style but it's a less cynical show than the office (not that the office is bad of course it's awesome), I like it a lot :)

Well the site is more accurate than Tv.com in some things and not in others, for example it doesn't list the Spartacus: Gods of the arena prequel at all

I'm also a fan of P&R!
Just finished Pushing Daisies, really enjoyed it.
Good to see Always Sunny and The League are back!
No one else watched Louie then?

I like Parks & Recreation :D.

Anyone watch Smallville? Admittedly there have been some rubbish episodes/seasons, but I think season 9 was decent, and the next season is the final one so I'll be watching it :).

Starz said:
Andy Whitfield, star of Starz's "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," has been advised by his doctors to immediately resume aggressive treatment for a recurrence of cancer, as a result of which he will not be returning for the series' second season, which was tentatively set to air in September 2011.

"It's with a deep sense of disappointment that I must step aside from such an exceptional project as Spartacus and all the wonderful people involved. It seems that it is time for myself and my family to embark on another extraordinary journey. Thank you sincerely for the support so far," said Whitfield.

"Our hearts and prayers are with Andy and his family during this difficult time," said Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht. "Andy is not only an incredible actor whose portrayal of Spartacus made an indelible impression on Starz audiences, he is also an amazing human being whose courage, strength, and grace in the face of adversity have inspired all of us."

No decisions have yet been made about the future of the series. "Right now, we just want to extend our concern and support to Andy and his family," said Carmi Zlotnik, Managing Director, Starz Media. "We will address our programming plans at some later date."

Starz still plans to air the prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand in January 2011. Entitled Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, it focuses on the House of Batiatus before Spartacus arrives in Capua and stars returning cast members John Hannah, Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah and Manu Bennett, along with newcomer Dustin Clare.

:(

Damn that's really bad news, especially for Andy of course who I hope makes a fully and speedy recovery but bad news for the show as I was really looking forward to the second series, maybe if the prequel does well they can do a 2nd prequel or something? Certainly John Hannah and Lucy Lawless were so good in the first series it would be a shame for them to be dead and forgotten ;)

"Boardwalk Empire" started on HBO last night, sounds really good and will give it a watch today :)

Edit: Really good! Never been a big fan of Buscemi really, the man just looks like death and has a weird voice  , but he's really good in this. Certainly sticking with this one, intrigued by how the story and characters are going to go :)

Just watched Nikita E01, pretty good! Better than I expected, looking like a great season of TV so far!

Damn, thats horrible news about Andy Whitfield :( Cannot see a 2nd series of Spartacus now, which will be a shame, but hopefully he can get better and we'll see him in other shows.

Watched the first few episodes of Breaking Bad S2 and wow, is that an awesome show?! Havent felt as tense in scenes as I did in some of those. Got the box set on the way from Amazon now.

Boardwalk Empire looks good - love Steve Buscemi! That guy is off the hook!

Anyone know where the UK air dates are of the US shows? Primarily...

House
CSI Vegas
Fringe
Breaking Bad
Boardwalk Empire
The Office

Ta!

You could try tv.com or sky?
Boardwalk Empire was very good, more gory than I thought, can't wait to see how it develops.

Yea, been looking at Sky and they have no info for the new series of Fringe or House and C5 has nothing for CSI.

I think Boardwalk Empire is going to be on Sky1 as part of their new HBO deal?

EDIT:

For anyone not dl'ing and willing to wait;

House - Sunday 3rd October
Fringe - Tuesday 5th October
Walking Dead - November

List of more here; http://www.geektown.co.uk/2010/09/04/updated-2010-uk-air-dates-for-geeky-shows/

Just watched "The Event" and thought it was pretty good! Some interesting twists in there already and I'm very confident that it's going to be one of the better shows this season.

Got "Lost Girl E02" and "Chase E01" to watch as well.

Edit: Meh, "Chase" isn't that good at all. Doesn't offer anything different at all to the usual crime dramas, it's too cheesy and just not interesting enough for me. Didn't even make it to the end of the show, I just didn't care.

The Event - 101

I liked this pilot, despite having to watch scenes multiple times, somtehing that I hate most of the time. But it was okay.
I will keep following it to know if
the event is not what we all thing about.
However I'd be suprised if this show lasts.

7+/10

Flashforward v2. I can't take it seriously.

Chuck S04E01 - Loved it :D Chuck really is a great show, this season should be awesome.

No Jeff or Lester in the episode :( but Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay were in the intro credits so they should be involved soon :D

House S07E01 - Good episode, great acting again by Hugh Laurie.
