It is possible on the mods I've released. You have to edit the .ini file inside the plugins folder to remove the 3D grass during gameplay. Here are the settings that you have to change:

FIFA 11:
NoGrassInLiveGameplay=1

FIFA 12:
The current version can't render 3D grass during gameplay yet. Have plan on getting it to work in future and if I manage to do it, there will be option to disable it.

FIFA 13:
Mod unreleased and is still in development. Some stadiums have bugs with mow patterns and I can't solve it yet, so it's not released. You can disable 3D grass during gameplay on the unreleased mod.

FIFA 14:
GameplayGrass=0

FIFA 15:
GrassInGameplay=0
