The Movies Thread

Tobi you fu;>Ł$ing liar :P this is THE BEST END CREDIT SCENE EVER! Well since its a copy and paste from another movie, basicly the first ever wich had end credit scene! :SMUG: loved it!

Cant believe this movie even exist. 10/10 DEADPOOL

I knew that scene looked familiar... I'm looking at these Deadpool scenes it differently now.

That film is so good and still holds up today.

The Sitter - 6.5/10

Decent enough, but not as funny as I thought it would have been. Little girl was good in it.

Talladega Nights (sp?) - 6/10

Was alright, not a big Will Ferrell fan, was told to watch it, but it wasn't really as great as I was led to believe.

San Andreas - 6.5/10

It was okay movie, OTT though at points. Although I've saw her before, the girl who plays the daughter is one hot tottie in this.

Wedding Ringer - 7/10

Decent enough comedy, not as good as the likes of Wedding Crashers and Wedding Singer, but good enough.

Hateful eight: Good cinematography in those few scenes that were outside, the rest is like a theater play, happening in a single room. I like the idea to have this story in a confined space with characters whose motifes, characters and backstory are yet unknown (a little bit like an Agatha Christie who-dunnit-story mixed with "Reservoir Dogs")... but unfortunately it wasn't made well enough, the dialogue (the one thing Tarantino usually excels in) was incredibly dull and shallow, the characters were all flat (except for the one played by Samuel L. Jackson), there was no interesting backstory, even the end-action was uninspired.
Imho the worst Tarantino movie, on the level of "Deathproof" or maybe even a little below that one. 5/10.

The Hateful Eight : 9/10

I really loved it. Better than Django Unchained for sure.

one of my top 10 movies for 2015.

Been holding off watching this as it's so bloody long!
I don't like committing so much time to a film usually.

I really liked Django until

Christopher Waltz character was killed

then I thought it spiraled into trash.

I'll have to find 3 hours spare this weekend and throw myself at TH8

Sorry for the lack of spoiler.
I assumed most people in here would have seen Django by now and it's not giving away the end of the film but still, I see my error and apologise.

well, 2h47 with Tarantino isn't too long, his movies are enjoyable whatever the duration is, you get dragged in his world and never want to leave, he's one of the rare directors who make their movies interesting even when there's not so much events, his dialogues are amazing, he has a special atmosphere that makes his movies in a level by themselves, incomparable to any others.

I agree, even 3,5 hours would be no problem, if the story and characters are good. So, give it a try, maybe you will like "Hateful eight". I didn't, but jihado86 did, so like with every movie, there is some subjectivity involved.

check them out and you'll see how unfortunately every movie is worse than its predecessor.

for me :

Casino Royale : 10/10
Quantum of Solace : 8/10
Skyfall : 6/10
Spectre : 4/10, or even 3.

^^^^ Yeah what he said.

I thought Casino Royale was brilliant though and I had fell away from the Bond films, think Timothy Dalton film may have been the last before that I had saw.

Watched Chappie last night, really enjoyed it, was a bit daft at the end, but I did like the movie though. I'd give it a 8/10.

Started watching Office Space, but I just couldn't take to it, think I had about 20 minutes to go, but was getting late and switched it off, don't think I'll return to it, was pants.

Bridge of Spies - 9/10

Really enjoyed it, the guy who played the Russian was excellent.

Vacation - 7/10

Enjoyed it more than I though, was very funny at points, the young boy was very funny with some of his quips. Christina Applegate still looking fine.

The long good friday (1980): Awesome little british gangster movie, with a great Bob Hoskins (I think this role enabled his hollywood career) and a nearly equally impressive Helen Mirren, and a mini-role for a young Pierce Brosnan. Gritty, intense, fascinating...

This is what "A most violent year"(2014) wanted to be, but couldn't.

8.5/10.

Labor Day - 7/10

Good performances from the main cast but the storytelling was weak.

Unfortunately, the movie was a big disappointment.
Amazing action scenes and visual effects, BUT, lame scenario, effortless writing, dull dialogues.
Forcing the movie to set up for Justice League killed it.

but the good point is, Affleck was outstanding, the best Batman we got.

Is it like Man of Steel?

That film was awful and the director was a big reason for it.

I liked Man of Steel to be honest, despite not being brilliant.
BvS has more big flaws in the writing and directing.

seriously, Snyder is only good at delivering amazing action scenes, other than that, he sucks. the problem is, WB are giving him the mission to direct JL part 1 & 2.
if they really want to compete with Marvel, they should fire Snyder, Chris Terrio, David S. Goyer. and that only a first step.

man of steel was dull, realy forgetable Superman movie...

i won´t even spend money on Batman vs. Superman... if i had not seen Deadpool i would go to see this movie, but not now... i can´t stand hollywood comics movies anymore... all the same shit.

Yep Hollywood and DC are onto a good thing, shit will be milked for years now in so many other combinations and "reboots" ... boring already.

Just watched Star Wars VII on Blue Ray with subs. Im sure Rey is a Kenobi, during her vision she hears whisperings from Yoda and mostly from Ewan McGregor's Kenobi. Plus the mindtrick she pulled off, thats vintage Kenobi.

Shes also better than any men in the film at almost everything, can fly the millennium falcon better than Han solo (and fix it) even though its an unknown "piece of junk" only 5 minutes before and she pulls off manoeuvres that defy law with that ship.

She gets a calling from a lightsaber (?) and knows how to use the force better than anyone in the film without any training whatsoever or knowing anything about mindtricks that even ben took years to learn .. check out the whole feminism Disney angle via reviews, bit of an eye opener for sure.

It took Luke 3 films to build to a Jedi & train but this keira knightley clone is almost a perfect miracle in just over an hour or so .. Go Girlfriend!!!

They pretty much repeated EP6 and then ignored lots of Starwars Lore, the farce is strong with this one :BOP:

yeah its pretty unexplained...if they do explain all these Mary Sue effects someohow later its okay but if they dont than its just lame screenwriting. honestly i hope shell be a Sith later on because with a little training shell be much stronger than Ben...if she isnt already, oh and make Ben turn to the light side!

but i fear she is just Skywalker's daughter and there wont be any big twist around this or explanations about all her abilities

Ip Man 3: I like Ip Man 1, but this one has a paper thin story to begin with. I then thought, ok ignore the story, just enjoy the fights, and in the first half there were two or three that were enjoyable with the fight against Mike Tyson being the highlight (not because of the fighting itself, which was a bit lame, just because of the prospect of seeing Mike Tyson fight against IP Man (the real highlight fight was the one inside the elevator (against that Thai-fighter), unfortunately they didn't fight completely in that lift, which was imho a brilliant setting for a fight)) .

Unfortunately, after that fight, which should have been the end-fight in a more extended, more dramatic version, the already paperthin story completely vanished and the movie just kept on going for another 45 minutes without any story and no point at all. Really lame. 3/10
