Rap was at it's peak in the early 90's. almsot EVERYTHING that came out was good. you had Gangstarr pete rock and CL Biggie Tupac Redman EPMD early-Nas
Nowadays when i look at what 50 has "become", it's all bad. Not that 50 didn't pay his dues through the underground circuit, but it seems like theres no real thing to it anymore...

Hi

gotta agree with this - also Kool G Rap, Paris, early Big Daddy Kane, D Nice

Not to mention the early years of Wu Tang and the various offshoots. Liquid swords by GZA is probably one of my all time fav albums - nearly every track hits the mark especially 'Gold', 'Duel of the iron mic' and '4th chamber'

and prob my favourite track of all time is 'Headbanger' EPMD/Redman/K Solo

(Yes the Redman that's what they call me
Wicked with the style you think I have cerebral palsy
Like AAIEEAHAAA, cause I freak the styles crazy
Lullaby your stupid ass, ROCKABYE BABY
The Funkadelic Devil hit your ass with a level from the new school
and still holdin my jewels!)

hi mate

ah i like to suprise people you see, that little bit of unpredictability that keeps people on their toes ;) . For the record I hate the commercial bastardisation of Rap/Hip Hop and whilst I don't mind Emeniem/50 Cent etc.. give me some old skool Rakim anyday.

To be honest I havent bought anything for a good few years, however I'm gonna track down this Papoose chap and check him out. Any particular track worth listening to ?

cheers

Yes! I prefer Only built 4 Cuban Linx (Raekwon) better but both are classic albums. Ghostface Killah is my favorite member though.

Only Built... is one of the best albums ever made, it's 10 years old this year but still sounds ahead of the stuff coming out now...

theres a guy from KMD who is in MF Doom...

Master Ace "long hot summer" one of the albums of last year he's from that era...

most of the groups you mentioned are no longer making music, I think only Brand Nubian have released something recently...

Yeah thats the guy. Also if you go to the West End you see a lot hip/hop heads there selling there CD on the streets....it's a real hustle man when your a UK artist beacuse you competing with people like 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Nas, Kanye West and etc.....and they get a lot of finacial backing from their record company. It's not like grime music where the person your competing with is a guy just like you from East London or North London.

Recommendation: Klashnekoff is currently the best UK rapper IMO. His album 'The Sagas of...' has tight production, and his lyrics are the bollox.

Also look out for a track by Hard Livin called 'Oh Girl' on Sin Nombre records. That tune has a really catchy hook!

I might peep doom actually, my boy from back in the day has feat with them I believe Kurious Jorge, one of the great modern mc's, that bro cud speat heat.

yeah MF Doom are pure quality, he and Ghostface (wu tang) are doing an album together..

sh*t i've not heard anyone talk about Kurious for years, I was listening to his "constipated monkey" album the other day, they dont't make hip hop like that any more...

yeah contispated monkey was a dope album, I often listen to it, that was the good ol dayz, napsack on my back ;-)

I'm obviously a lightweight when it comes to hip-hop compared to you guys, but I used to really love it during the 90s. These days I don't listen to much.
What ever happend to Coolio? I used to really like his stuff.
I thought his last album, Coolio el Magnifico (don't quote me on the title!), was pretty cool. "What is an MC" is great.

D12's Bizarre Readies Hip-Hop 'Circus'

D12 rapper Bizarre has landed a host of high-profile guests for his solo debut, "Hannicap Circus." Due June 28 via Sanctuary, the 17-track set is led by the single "Rockstar" produced by D12 leader Eminem, who also guests on the Hi Tek-produced "Hip Hop. Elsewhere, OutKast's Big Boi and Devin The Dude lend a hand on "Porno Bitches."

Other acts contributing to "Hannicap Circus" include Raphael Saadiq, Erick Sermon and Obie Trice.

A signature hip-hop personality in the vein of Ol' Dirty Bastard with a physique reminiscent of Biz Markie, Bizarre is known as much for his contributions to D12 as he is for his appearance and unusual behavior.

"I'm a guy that chews paper, wears a shower cap in public, pops Vicodin pills and goes fishing," the rapper says. "I'm here to lighten up the hip-hop game."

Eminem and the other D12 members will be close at hand as Bizarre begins promoting the album, having already appeared in the "Rockstar" video. As previously reported, D12 will join Eminem and 50 Cent on this summer's Anger Management tour, which begins July 7 outside Indianapolis.

Here is the track list for "Hannicap Circus":

"Intro" featuring Young Miles
"Rockstar"
"F*ck Your Life" featuring Sindee Syringe
"Hip Hop" featuring Eminem
"Porno Bitches" featuring Big Boi and Devin the Dude
"Bad Day"
"Gospel Weed Song"
"I'm So Cool"
"Ghetto Music" featuring Swifty, King Gordy and Stick Man
"Crush on You"
"I'm So Into You"
"Coming Home" featuring Raphael Saadiq and Kuniva
"One Chance"
"Record Skip" featuring Young Miles
"I Need a Friend"
"Nuthin At All" featuring D12
"Doctor Doctor" featuring Obie Trice

To be honest I can't stand Bizarre. He doesn't really have a flow. His new track 'Rockstar' is pretty lame like.

Eminem now in my opinion is falling off, he rises when its most important but recently he hasn't done anything good to show.
He is apparently releasing a new album later this year (Autumn) and is called 'The Funeral'. It is named that as in this album he is putting all his 'personas' to rest.
