The General PC Questions Thread

You don't need a 650 for that mate.

I have a i7 4700k oc'd, 780 gtx, 8gb ddr3, 120 SSD, 2tb, 212 evo all running on that 600w I mentioned above. I knows it no use in hindsight but that's the beauty of building for yourself, you can use quality components.

Nice one.

I think I'm going to go with the one you recommended anyway. I hope it IS the PSU because I don't know what else it could be now...will keep you posted.

Thinking about getting a new internal hard drive, its been that long since I bought one I cant remember if the cables come with it?

Also would it be best if the new one is the same as my current one? which is a SATA II I believe

Thanks

I am going to buy a new laptop so any recommendation for a good laptop to run fifa15 & pes 2015 but cheaper then 1000$
thanks

Hi guys

I have a problems is anyoen can help me please

I am running multiple displays and have my normal montor connected to pc via VGa and my Samsung UE48H8000 Curved LED HD 1080p 3D Smart TV connected to pc via hdmi cable.
No whenever i watch something or plays pro evo on the tv the colour is very dull. I have tried to edit it via nvidia control panel but no luck as when i adjust them it automatically messes up my monitor which colour is perfect.
I have gone to tv menu and tried to adjust settings but I am only able to change, Backlight,Contrast,Brightness and sharpness but not colour, when i try to it says "This function is not available"

am racking my brain as to what is causing this problem is it the tv?, the hdmi cable?, the graphic card?
can anyone please advise me, I would really appreciate it
thanks

I'm not familiar with that TV but are there any options on it for the HDMI input to set it to a PC mode or similar? I think I found your posts on AVS Forum and if you keep choosing the duplicate display option I don't think you'll be able to choose separate colour settings in the nVidia control panel for the two displays.

Ebay.

Or this one if your receiver also has composite input: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-6-in-..._MobilePhoneDataCables_JN&hash=item58b9074d09

Thanks, I just forgot about ebay, blame on me.

But still there, it seems to be a special price class for Lightning to HDMI connectors :(

Yes, but the iPad was a present and it would be more expensive to buy another hardware with cheaper equipment.
Otherwise some Android platform manufactors are doing the same thing like Apple. Look at Samsung with their own market places and e.g. MHL 'standard'. The market is not improving at this moment :-(

True, well the "grey" ones on Ebay should work fine, just check first with the seller, or you can try Chinese ebay, maybe a better price if you can wait for delivery:

What are people using these days to check there PCs?

I used to use Hijackthis first to see if anything untoward was running but it doesn't work for windows 8.1.

Are they any other similar program that can do this and can save a log which can be auto analysed to tell you exactly what's running?

I've used to run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from time to time which should be what you're looking for, I suppose.

I need some advice, I know how to spec a PC/Mac for video editing but I don't know how to spec one for live streaming. Any advice on what features I should be looking for?

I want a purpose built machine (PC) that can handle 720p live streaming video (not games), I'm also going to add a Decklink Mini Recorder to the PC.

The budget is between £500 and £700, I may be able to stretch that to £750 if I can justify it.

Thanks.

Any old PC lying around.. As long as the PC is good enough to Transcode the video files it is fine.

Just need an i3 or cheap arse AMD, anything would be fine for streaming. You could buy spares and parts on eBay for £100 to do the job.

Thanks, didn't think it would be so simple.

Buying a new desktop soon. I want to be able to run Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3. Any recommendations on a pc? I don't want to go over $650. Thx
