Texture flickering on PCSX2

PCSX2 version 2.8.0 was released yesterday, and based on the tests I’ve been running, the texture issues with players’ hair and heads are still present.

I’m getting the same issue on Android on my Retroid Pocket 5 using ARMSX2 and NetherSX2 with Turnip drivers. It seems there’s still no way to play the PS2 PES games without these graphical glitches, unless you use the original hardware.

If anyone has any updates or has found a fix, please let us know. Thanks!

personally I solved with Super Camera editor tool... I patched all my iso with new parameters and 16:9 aspect ratio
It solve it because it apply also a fix for lod (level of details) on the game (you need also Game Graphic studio to extract the SLPM_xxx.xx file from the iso that need to be modded by Super camera editor)

a video wihout any glitches:

otherwise if you want to avoid the problem at source, with unpatched iso, you have to use an emulator like this:

For example, Retroarch, a fronted for emulators, contains it

I've played all kinds of PES games on my Anbernic, and I've never had a single issue outside of occasional slow-down (fixed when you quickly enter the Athersx menu and exit again). FIFA games have always given some graphical issues from 2004 onwards, but some of those are fixable in settings

Thanks a lot for your message. I finally managed to fix it!!

I first tried the program you mentioned. Although the camera zoom-out worked, it didn’t fix the graphical glitches with the players’ heads and hair. I’m not sure why, since the LOD fix was enabled in the program and, in theory, it should have fixed the issue.

So, once I had adjusted the camera zoom, I manually edited the SLES file using a hex editor. I followed the steps from this thread:
https://evoweb.uk/threads/pes-we-jl-fix-lod-level.91388/

And now there are no more graphical glitches, either in PCSX2 or on Android using NetherSX2. Setting the LOD to Very High completely fixes the issue.

I’ve attached a screenshot showing the before and after with Pedri’s hair.

because it depends from the scale you choose to apply personally I applied scale of 0950 or less with 16.9 widescreen in many of isos and the issue is gone...

Another cause could be the iso (if itsn't in the database of the tool)... while a latest cause for the failure, it could be that you forgot to re-import the file you edited with Super Camera editor into the ISO with game graphic studio... LOL :P:P:P:P;)

Guys, i tried your solutions for the flickering on players hairstyles, but it doesn't work on PES 2008, i tried to edit manually the SLES and apply the super camera editor edits, but i've still got the annoying flickering...
