Before I start I'd like to say I'm not a n00b to PES, I've been playing it religiously since PES3 on the PC and can confidently say I'm a pretty advanced player. I regularly beat Chelsea and Arsenal etc around 7-0 in my master league on world class level in PES6, so don't be saying "go practice", or "go play FIFA" (cuz we all know that game is dogshit pie) I just want to know if you guys experience a similar level of being bent over as I do with the 2008 demo...I'm sure you must!
I've been playing on regular level and professional and the PC cheats like I've never known. Anyone agree that teamvision seems to mean: you tackle me and I'll ensure 90% of deflections will go to one of my team members? Either that or the ball will bounce ridiculously between us until you stumble and I'll run away with the ball.
I find it so frustrating that you can't even turn your back to a player without him still taking the ball off you, no matter which direction you move they grab it and run off, even near the bylines. If you make a tackle there, it's about 99% certain it'll go out for a throw-in.
It's stupid, the PC doesn't learn what I do - it sticks it's leg through the back of mine and picks the ball up as my player stands there stunned. Trying to intercept the ball is a complete nightmare because your player is obsessed with either running goalside of their player or likes to do a little shimmy just as your about to make contact with the ball ensuring it's safe path to it's intended target.
I've even noticed that during a 4-3-3 formation with Brazil, because my attacking options are so threatening, when running along the wing with say Adriano or Ronaldinho with no-one in sight, they slow to a snails pace instead of belting it giving the defender loads of time to catch up. It drives me mad.
I'm really gutted, I was hoping Konami was going to make the AI actually clever this year and not resort to CPU cheating, but they've outdone themselves and now pretty much EVERYTHING is scripted.
Looks like it's back to PES6 Masterleague for a while. This demo is doing my head in now, I've not scored for ages!! I won 4-0 against France on my second go, now I can't even beat Turkey with Brazil!
I hope they sort it out for the full release but I doubt it. I've played demo's for PES in the past - PES5 I think, that played slightly differently to the full game, so fingers crossed.
