Suspended players can't be substituted

While playing Master League my striker got a straight red and is suspended for 3 games. However in the upcoming matches I cannot remove him from the starting line up. As a result I end up continuing to the match and the computer automatically replaces him.

Any way to overcome this?

I believe there was a similar problem like this in last years pro too. IMO could be easily fixed with a patch :YAWN:
 
You can remove him from the line-up as long as you dont change the preset tactics. If you use your default preset one (number one, usually), he will already be substituted, but you can change it, and then re-arrange your tactics. If you change the preset tactics, the suspended player will appear on your line-up and you wont be able to change it.

Try doing this.
