You struggled big time yeasterday against Boro tho, and only one because of a lucky deflection. ;)

p.s. Gary Neville is an old man, especially with all the complaining he does during 90 minutes. :mrgreen:

Well, fu** me! What a pile of wa*k we were last night. They get paid ten's of thousands of pounds and they can't pass a ball ten yards.

Kevin Phillips a snip at £3.25 million!!!! What a waste of oxygen, and as for Paul Telfer well, fu*k me WHAT A PLAYER he must be up for player of the season surely?? He certainly gets my vote!!! Chris Baird, Irish international.... I can see why.... FFS what a useless bunch of cu**s!

I'm going to re-name this thread the official useless bast**ds thread!!!

I'm now a Bournmouth fan so don't talk to me about Saints anymore as I no longer support them.

I was joking about Bournmouth!! I'm a Saint till I die. I normally fight my cause till I'm blue in the face but I have nothing to fall back on can't even say we were unlucky!!

Highlight of the game for me was the half time 'crowd trouble', pi** funny! :D

Jim, why don't you just accept we played absolutely brilliant last night. We gave you credit for your win last year, so I expect you do the same. ;)
 
To be fair you didn't play any better than you normally do, and of course I;ll give you credit. It's just we played tripe.

Yeah I was told arsenal played really well, but another dude told me the Saints looked like they couldnt be arsed and that wee Gordon wasnt too happy.

Should be a fairly easy game for the Toon Army this one. I predict a 3-0 victory to Newcastle, all goals scored by Shearer. ;)
 
Must admit im enjoying the Southampton - Newcastle game Jim. 2-0 Newcastle at half-time and really it could have been more. :mrgreen:

Ahhh better get back to watching it. ;)

Strachan to quit Saints
9 January 2004

Southampton manager Gordon Strachan has decided not to extend his contract with the club beyond the end of this season for "medical and other personal reasons".

Southampton released a statement on the club's website www.saintsfc.co.uk confirming that Strachan would step down as manager at the end of the campaign when his current deal expires because he needed "a break from the demands and pressures associated with being a Premier League football manager."

Strachan guided Saints to the FA Cup final last season, where they lost to Arsenal, and that secured a place in this season's UEFA Cup.

The statement read: "In keeping with our philosophy of open and transparent management of our club, it is with some sadness that Southampton Football Club announces that Gordon Strachan has decided not to extend his contract with us beyond the end of this season.

"A new contract has been under discussion for some time now but Gordon has decided that, for medical and other personal reasons, he needs a break from the demands and pressures that are associated with being a Premier League football manager.

"The decision was Gordon's and press speculation over the relationship between him and chairman Rupert Lowe, contract length, remuneration and transfer funding are completely unfounded and have no bearing on a decision made for purely personal reasons. Gordon has indicated that he will continue to live in the Southampton area."
 
Yeah it sucks....!! However, this is football and you have to take the rough with the smooth. The only problem I can see is it will be sooo tough to find a suitable replacement. And I don't just mean a good manager, I mean someone with the same drive/energy and enthusiasm - and of course comical timing ;)
