Saints Row 2

I did a few of the missions in co op a few days ago and they're much easier. I'm not sure if the scores are the same as for solo play but or if they're double what they are but it seemed easier playing with 2 of us.

Although the destruction derby was just as impossible with every AI car coming for you and ignoring each other - and it seems the only way to win it is by destroying everyone yourself - but half of them kill themselves crashing into walls... or you'll destroy someone to the point they set on fire and randomly you'll get points for making them explode and another time you'll get sod all.

Very hit and miss

I did the Destruction Derby's easily and even all of the bonus ones after which are a right laugh

The Key is to boost just before you hit them to take half or 3/4 energy off them

One of the best ways to do mayhem is to get a bulldozer and find some fences in the mayhem area and run them down.

The more fences you can find the more combo points you get, also you know you have an infinite RPG? You can shoot this at the fences too.

Also keep and eye on the radar and as soon as you see a red dot coming towards you nail them.

I've managed both with this method, the reward for the nuclear power plant mayhem is one of the best in the game.

My first mayhem was next to a load of fences, I racked up the points REALLY easily just by hitting fences and the odd lamppost.

Thats exactly what i do but the fuckers shoot me

yeah but the when you have the rocket launcher armed its takes longer to grab a food item

I've only done one Brothehood mission so far. Thought it was all going to kick off at the end of the cutscene

Silly question seeing as you all seem to love it, but is this any good?

Like most of you, I've got GTA4 and I still look at the box on the shelf and think "damn thats a good game", but never actually bring myself to put it on!

So.... is it more fun that GTA4 and is it worth owning both?

I've got a spare PES to trade, so thinking of getting it today.

I'd say it's worth getting if you enjoy GTA sandbox games. SR2 is more fun, silly and varied. GTA is more serious and more like playing through a mafia movie.

I'd say both are as good as each other, for slightly different reasons. SR2 is good fun, good to mess around on. GTA hooked me with its story and a lot more realistic.

Good game, I'm impressed with the lighting and with other things (shooting over the shoulder is really well done). But it's very sweary and silly, which puts me off.

Cheers guys... still undecided! I do like sandbox games, but think they can get a bit directionless - I'm not into mayhem and violence for the sake of it...

I think the games are different really, Honestly with GTA all I did was do the missions and a few other things but the game didn't keep me interested other than the missions. Like the missions kept me playing it, it was intriguing and fun and actually had a ending. Whilst SR2 the missions are not as effective, they are more fun and silly as Dags said.

When I beat SR2 I'm not going to stop playing it, I'll be trying to complete all the various activities such as Insurance Fraud, Mayhem, Sex with Hoe's (;)) and etc.

Oh and Dags, how are you getting on so far?

It's not really for the sake of it though. It has loads of activities which unlock you stuff. There's activities like escorting people, protecting people, races and loads of other stuff.

There's also a good few missions to do, strongholds (which are basically you storming a place and having shootouts) and then you have the messing about.

There's always something "proper" to do which unlocks things or moves the story on :))

24% I think now.

Just did the Ronin mission where Gat was stabbed and you take him to the hospital

I really enjoy the stronghold missions, I love shootouts :DD I just wish you could take cover behind walls/objects like GTA though.

I've also only just found out how to own businesses and make money off them :DD

The map is looking pretty purple now, something like 14/45 neighbourhoods owned.

I currently have 44/45 (You'll realize why 1 is missing as you play on).
And the businesses, did you just buy the property, or are you doing something else?

Aye I've bought a few around the city, the best one is the airport and hotel (both in the same area). I love taking the real life jets from the airport, they are rare to find but it feels like playing GTA;SA again.

But it's very sweary and silly, which puts me off.

That's kind of the point, it's supposed to be sweary and silly, I think you can tone it down in the options somewhere tho.

@Dags Use human shields, most of the time the gang member's won't shoot their mates, coppers are best for this get your back to a wall and you can nail the crap out of loads of old bill.

They do tend to run you over though, quite funny none the less.

Tried base-jumping last night and it's frikkin hard. You're supposed to land on your gang members vehicle which is in the centre of the circle but I found it nigh on impossible.

Bah, who needs human shields? I just blaze in with my dual-pistols or shotgun and wipe 'em out kamikaze style :DD

The Kobra automatic dual pistols rock :D

done 48% it been really fun love the custscenes some have been funny.
