Well of course it would in comparison to anything contemporary, It was a design choice birthed out of hardware limitations of the time & the gameplay & shooting was balanced accordingly, The remake kept them for the sake of familiarity & homage to the original but it still worked really well.Personally the Gamecube version was a very good re-master back 20 years ago.
However the problem is the gameplay has aged terribly and the static camera just makes it feel incredibly dated these days.
The Resident Evil 2 remake was a masterpiece - Resident Evil 3 not so much.
Most things will feel dated out of context compared to anything contempory, but if that's the only reason we remake stuff instead of enjoying a game simply with the appreciation of when it was made, then literally everything will have to be remade every 20 years & we know how sensitive that topic can be.
I've also heard people pining for a RE4 Remake too. Really?
