Registering a player to a new team

Following new transfers I use the in game edit menu to register the player to the correct team (until a new patch with new transfers comes out). There usually is an unpopular or a not-so-talented youth player to make the switch with.
Now I have a different situation I don't know how to correct: Lucas Neill of Everton is moving to Galatasaray, but somehow Neill doesn't show on Everton squad. He is in the Australian national squad though. Is there anyway to move/copy/register his appearance/attributes to Gala without having to create a new player?
