Real Madrid Thread

Congrats to Real and there fans, They left it late but done it in the end Congrats.....:applause:

when you press the 'i' button it says real madrid have regained la liga and the program was them celebrating winning the league live!:) big up to madrid, they deserve it.

:D
i'm looking at the celebration on tv right now. what a great show!

p.s. CAPELLO SMILED (maybe for the first time in his life:mrgreen: ) !

i'm recording it, do they get the trophy tonight?

A sincere plea to the Spanish League - bin the ridiculous head-to-head rule for settling places on equal points. Barcelona's goal difference was 19 better than Real. Head-to head is knockout (Copa del Rey); league is consistency and level of performance over the whole season. Disgraceful for Real to win the title.

I think both methods have their benefits, maybe Barcelona scored more goals against very weak opposition but it's winning that counts right?

at the end of the day madrid took four points of barca, beat sevilla at home and did the double over valencia, they beat their rivals and they deserve the title, plus in the last 17 games they have drawn 1, lost 1 and won the rest how is it a disgrace?

PS: the head to head rule has been set in stone for many many years so why are some people moaning about it now, you don't here anyone at barca complaining do you?

yea but at the end of the day barca scored a load more of goals and finished level with points. you dont win titles just because you beat the top teams. if that was the case than arsenal should have won the title too.

Bare in mind that the filth that are Barca should have lost the match before due to the fact that their equaliser should have been disallowed for handball. Messi should also have been fined retroactively and mayb even suspended for last nights game.

Also the head to head rewards the stronger team between the 2. Wouldn't really be fair if Barca won it after losing 8-0 both games to Real. People will still think Real are the better team.

yea true but you can never take away the fact that barca where the better side overall(statisticly) in the league.

why is it just in the la liga that they have this stupid head to head rule and not in the champions league? ummmmm.

O and just because barca lost 8:0 in both games has u said DOESNT make real the better side. like i said if thats true then arsenal are a better side than manu(home and away wins).

West Ham beat United and Arsenal home and away.

It only comes into play if the two teams are level on points at the end, so your argument about Arsenal being better than Man Utd is flawed as Arsenal were miles behind in the league.

fair enough but why in the champions league and in most leauges dont have this head to head crap? shouldnt the title be rewarded to the best team OVERALL? now if two teams are level then the amount of goals scored and conceded SHOULD be the deciding factor!

Statistically its also flawed as on the basis of results ie wins draws loses the teams are level. You don't win a league on goal difference you win it on points. If a governing body want to make the title be decided by GD, head to head or a play off that is the method that is clear at the beginning of the title.

Barca knew they had to win overall with points, they failed to do this and lost.

To my knowledge head to head is in the CL or it was in recent years.

I remember it being goals scored more than goal difference in the old 2nd division. Not sure if it's true now.
Jonney - I prefer GD myself , but this league doesn't.

ramon caleron is giving the club a bad image, he needs some serious media training. i know that they have a history of doing this in the past but the guy one you your 1st trophy in 4 years, yes he made mistakes but at least he was man enough to admit to them.

For those of us not up to speed on La Liga, why on earth do you sack the guy who won you the league?!

The way I see it is for a manager to coach Real Madrid for more than one season he has to fulfill 3 things:

1. Win La Liga
2. Win La Liga in style playing sexy football
3. Win Champions League

...Even then they still might sack the manager because he didn't do the double over Barca.

Ouch, makes the chairman AI in Football Manager look realistic.

That's terrible though, if Man United got rid of their manager every year they wouldn't have the history that they have. It's bad enough when a manager gets sacked after two months in the Premiership, never mind when someone wins the league and then they're sacked.

Is this accepted by Real Madrid fans as the norm? Is it normal in Spain for all the clubs?

i didin't see the point in firing him because as the season got to the final few months real where playing better and getting results. And the last time they did this with del bosque they didn't win anything since 2003.

probably predrag and calderon are a lil unexperienced, but they're learning very fast. the way they handled the capello situation was perfect, trying to calm down the fans and remarking their trust in don fabio :applause: ....

.........
ok, so it looks like i was totally wrong.....
i really feel for real madrid fans...... having this ridiculous management.....
i can't believe what i'm saying, but...... even florentino was wiser than calderon

i'm really curious to see what will be next real moves: buying kakà for 80 millions? selling diarra and emerson?.....

1.)Win La Liga in style playing sexy football
2.)Win Champions League
3.)Win La Liga

3.)Beat Barca home and away in style playing sexy football

Then you might get a second season

saviola is a great signing

true, mate, especially if u consider that he came for free :)

but 30 millions euros for pepe...... it's just ridiculous

.....real madrid's biggest weak point is just their idea of "sexy football"

they definitely over paid for pepe.

Well, I guess signings are over for Madrid:

3 Defenders:
- Metzelder
- Pepe
- Heinze

3 Midfielders:
- Baptista (return)
- Sneijder
- Drenthe

3 Strikers:
- Saviola
- Soldado (return)
- Robben

1 Keeper:
- Dudek

Very nice new players... now I only hope they use them!! :D

My take would be:

--------------------Van Nistelrooy/Raúl--------------------------
.
---Robben/Saviola-----------------------------------Robinho/Higuaín-
.
---------------------Sneijder/Baptista-------------------------
.
-------------Guti/Gago-----------------Diarra/De La Red---------
.
---Drenthe/Marcelo----------------------------S.Ramos/Cicinho
.
----------------Heinze/Pepe----Cannavaro/Metzelder---------
.
--------------------Casillas/Dudek-------------------------

Well this is a nice squad, and Schuster's teams have always played well. Now I only hope they don't go on with this shitty footy they've been playing this pre-season and start behaving!! :) Let's win La Liga again!! :D
