quick restarts dont work in 2008

how to i quick restart not only does L1 + R1 not work for me in command list it says press the directs to where u want to pass this also does not work

it only works when a player is in near of the ball and it doesn't roll to fast away.
it doesn't work often.

You don't use L1 and R1 anymore. My quick free kicks happen automatically.

just point in a direction of someone nearby and press pass
