PS2 - Patched PES 2008 Online?

I'm just wondering if a PES 2008 DVD-R which has been patched with staiums, balls, music etc will work fine online or does it have to be the original PES 2008 disc online?

Also, do OF's work in online play mode?

I'm hoping to go online later this week with the PS2 and just wanna suss things out before i pay the extortionate costs of the PS2 network adapter.
