PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I mean expecting something like that from PES is good joke .

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

How lazy do feel everything he's doing in the mocap session! I really really hope they mocapped 10 or 11 more players to have different styles and animations, to have hundreds of them and to raise the level shown here...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

lol @all the lovely guys who are criticizing a game based on a trailer.
I know PES hasn't delivered what's been expected from them in the last few years but come on.Let's wait for some gameplay videos/hands on

It's not just the latest trailer...it's the whole package with Konami; they just don't get it. Their big release at E3 was a 20 second trailer and some images that weren't that much different from last year; they keep harping about their graphics & shading, etc....EA on the other hand have had a hands-on preview for the Mags, Community day for the blogs, an influx of info (like 360 dribbling)of their upcoming game and so-on and so forth.

My opinion, Konami is so far behind we're probably 3 years away from getting a true next-gen PES.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

For my fans wondering about my decline in posting, there's nothing for me to post about. Literally, nothing.

I can't bring myself to talk about a teaser trailer as if it gave us any insight into how the game will play, so I'm going to sit on my hands and stare at a wall for the next couple of months.

Here's a summary of the next few weeks: Konami dead, shirts, shorts, faces, colour palette, grass textures, lighting, baywatch, wenb, where is Seabass, I mean Seriously? Torres tackling with his left in the trailer, suddenly switching to tackling with his right as the trailer transitions into that final picture.

etc.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I'm sure there will be more variation in the running and body movement this time round as there were at least 4 other mocap guys in there, as they are not changing the engine we should see some decent new animations given the wealth of staff this time...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

By the way don't know if it's been posted in here yet but on the fantastic Konami widget thing  you can enter to win a Messi signed shirt...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

And what if that motion capture session with messi was nothing but the making of a game intro? anyone thought of that?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

If that is the case ger x3 then Konami are dumbasses and on a mission to totally destroy their own brand that they have so successfully established.

Look at the mo-cap session vid again and you will see a snippet of a monitor showing King Messi's art being displayed as it would be in-game. But you could be right its all very speculative at the moment.

All I want is for konami to get as many players mo-capped because if Pirlo runs like King Messi as well I'm going to have a hernia.

Not only that, EA is so confident in their product that they're even willing to show it to FIFA blog editors who will give them feedback (KONAMI might want to take a hint) when the game is supposedly 45% complete. Again, not fair to judge when neither game has officially released gameplay footage.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

LOL cammy - you know thats coming next -

At the first next gen pes- it was said it was too ealy and 'rushed'
then 2008 was awful - fans said, its only really their 1st attempt - 2009 will be better
2009 - wasnt better, but 2010 is where its at man!!! They have been secretly making 2010 for years!!
2010 is shown and excuses will be coming!

My point is this, you can excuse Konami as much as you want, but the fact remains that from the screenshots already, even though they look better than last years... It still looks the same.

And everytime these shots come out, the final game looks the same.. Little bits will change, but on the whole it will be. It sounds negative, but it happens every year.

Its a shame really, i thought 2010 was going to be the year. Konami set their stall out pretty well with the blogs and early info - but then the demo and screenies said to me that the extra 200 staff arent being used well enough!

I guess KONAMI is satisfied with just the PC and Japan markets.

You guess? PES is KONAMI's best selling franchise, remember? What's the incentive to innovate if you already make so much profit year after year for making crap games?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

mgs is every 3 or 4 years. this is what they have to rely on one could think.

That sums it up really. FIFA sells because of its gameplay, PES sells because of the hype.

Nope, thats not it. I haven't bought PES for the hype but because I am a fan of the franchise and enjoy an alternative to FIFA. I still feel PES has something to offer that FIFA doesn't have, be it a comprehensible single player mode thats longer than 4 years or player individuality or ball physics. Also lets not forget FIFA has been selling for many years on hype alone.

@cammey PES1 and PES2 were crap IMO but PES3 raised the bar considerably lets see what PES 2010 has to offer.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

In the Torres/Barca image.

Why do they still look like they're made out of plastic or clay?

Heard the podcast and they can't shut up about it being brilliant.

FFS.

Could you elaborate on what they (I assume WENB) think is so brilliant? Did they already play the game like the FIFA10 testers have with 360 degree dribbling already implemented?

Messi is as you see in the video off the field :):SMUG:

yea, bloggers at Fifas E3 presentation, etc. said that the 45% finished Fifa 2010 ruined Fifa 09 for them. They said that it will be a long long summer waiting for Fifa 2010. I've heard that stuff like this from all the sites, all the people who have tried the 45% demo. I think it's pretty fair to say that FIFA 2010 will be vastly superior to Fifa 09, and thats that EA still has 55% to go and still hasnt made major announcements in innovations, new modes, etc, except for the 360 degree movement which is amazing in itself. After hearing the 360 degree movement, anything else will be a bonus for me. I was hoping EA wouldnt rest on their laurels just cause they got the football crown and I was hoping that PES 2010 be great just to keep EA on their toes and unlazy, and vice versa. From what Ive seen in that PES trailer, I have little hope. Sure, its just a teaser but Im judging the quality of the teaser. It says a lot about the talent/ideas/brains of the people who are working on the game. First impressions count. I really hope Konami shock all of us and put out a good game but I wont hold my breath. I think the crown rests easily on EA's lap. Just my opinion of course.

Agree with you 100% my friend. I don't understand why people aren't clamoring for KONAMI to include 360 dribbling now that FIFA introduced it; the idea is a revelation for footy games now that it seems to work well in practice. If this game doesn't get KONAMI off its ass I don't know what will.
