PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

This looks promising, and yes the fact that they use the term "simulation" a few times sounds good to me...

It would be great if we would have to very good, realistic football games...

The ML revamp is a good thing too.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

You've gotta hand it to Konami - someone there gets it. The chat around players tendencies, and players moving zonally and into space is really good.

Only thing that scares me is that it sounds waaaayyyy too complex to be good, and might all end up as a disaster. But maybe I'm just being pessimistic.. ;)

Not a new engine though, do you think they need it?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Promising stuff. Master league, animations and gameplay sound like they've been worked on and those 3 points are my biggest concern.

Still a long way to go.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Dare I say it? PES IS BACK!

I wouldn't say that so soon! I like your optimism though after one really bad game followed by an average one. PES6 and previous games seem so far away now. Lets hope this game can reach the heights of the PS2 fun factor

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Am I the only one who thinks that the Master League bit is the same bit they say every year? Nick will back me up here, every year they say it's enhanced and in the end it's a screen that gives you "interview snippets with your players" or something equally unimportant.

I don't think the ML will be significantly different looking at that - everything else has good specific details (e.g. how they say simulation so often, thank God, and how they mention things like the reaction times and the referees).

You could be right. I hope you're not. The way they tip toe round leaving the mode untouched is frustrating. Its like ML is some form of artwork that should never be tampered with. The funny thing is its clearly the opposite, and they should be mashing the mode up and rebuilding major aspects of it.

I've said the same thing every year since PES5 and nothing changes.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Still no mention of manual passing.

PES 2010 = Another fail, if they stick with scripted passing.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

I think the fact that Konami brings news out this early has some meaning (wish i would know which one).

A guess: they know that they 've lost against EA and this purely a PR operation (which would be disastrous PR in the long term, but they 've done it before..) or they genuinely think that the 2010 version will be a winner.

PS: if you would have followed this thread from the beginning then you would know that it is not such a good idea to criticize Thomas. 90% of the people in this thread are glad that he has news about the game and that this news usually is correct. Yes, he's made mistakes but it turns out that hardly anybody cares about that.
Thomas for president.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Is that picture true or fake????

Exclusive Europa League License: "Konami has strengthened its relationship with UEFA and can announce it has secured the exclusive video game rights for the Europa League Licence (formerly known as the UEFA Cup). In addition Konami will be enhancing and developing the use of the UEFA Champions League within PES 2010 to make even better use of the best club football competition in the world."
Seems promising...

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Hope that Messi screen is an in-game screen shot not just the CG packshot

It could have been edited out though just for the press release. We'll see I suppose. Roll on August with the gameplay footage :).

I miss PES , I really hope they do a good job this year.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Quit the bull about the "insider knowledge" you have been made to look a fool for the last 3 years.

Why don't you put him on your Ignore-List? You do not have to read his posts, but maybe other people like me are interested.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Still no menion of a new engine, still developing for the PS2 and seems to be a repeat of the so called last years improvements.

I'll reserve my judgement until I have seen it in action but that is not particularly encouraging news for me:R1

They think they have a simulation already!! i would not read too much into that.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

We can bollock around about words being reiterated in the press release, fact is we will have to wait till we get some images/footage to get a decent impression and reserve judgement until then IMO.
I for one, am firmly holding my horses. Seeing ( and not hearing or reading )is believing.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

guys thats the same improvement points what konami keep talking about every year before the next pes game .. so i had enough from seabass am not waitting for this game anymore and am not gonna beleive any thing they improve so thanks it will be updated version :)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Is it me or PES1 and PES2 were both poor? Because I remember thowing the controller away and playing Iss PS1 for two years until PES3 made a decent game....But back then FIFA was non existant as a football sim...I just can hope that history repeats itself.
