PES2008 PS2 version is the lost game / video thread

I've noticed that in PES 2008, when I choose a strong team, matches can sometimes end up being as bad as 7-0. In other words, the game becomes quite robotic when I select a strong team. Has anyone else noticed this?

I havent noticed it, what game mode are you playing?

I usually prefer league matches.

Oh ok that’s good then, do you have any tips on how to play well? Because I really struggle with the game especially in ML although admittedly I only use a lower team like Ipswich. :D

I think it's very easy to dribble past the defenders and the goalkeeper. I could run with Henry for a minute. Very arcade.

I only play with my updated option files, so he doesn't even feature in my ones. Maybe he is over powered in the original game. I find the original too arcade too that's why I reduce the stats to make it slower.

Some have said before in earlier posts in this thread that the game is too easy but for me I find it just right. Maybe it is different factors that make it harder for me, like playing ML with a lower team, on the highest difficulty, with the ML on the highest difficulty too, on 15 min matches, camera angle to the extreme.

Maybe the game is not for you if it is too easy. That is one reason why I never liked PES 6 because it is too arcade and too easy, I never understand the love that game gets apart from all the updated patches etc... :D

Henry was that good though. I mean:

There are hundreds more examples. Probably the best player on the 2008 default OF.

My suggestion is to play a Serie A if you haven’t done already, that is very difficult on this game. Even more so with a “lesser” club (I know you made this point already).

You could have shown any goal, but you show one against Tottenham :BRICK: :P

Wolves v Russia
Paraguay v Belgium

Enjoy the first two matches ... :)

Here are the next two matches ...

The snow bugs me though, I cannot see the ball sometimes. :D

Here are the final 2 matches of the 4th round, the first one is a classic ... enjoy! :)

In PES 2008, I sometimes find the defenders' movements ridiculous. Would it be beneficial to check their 1-on-1 stopper, D-line control, covering, sliding, marking, and positioning skills?

Yes you can give it a go and see if it helps. Although the 1-on-1 stopper is only for GK’s.

If you are playing ML it also depends on their Team Work too. When that is high it helps them to play better together.

Ref having a PES 6 moment there for the non-penalty! Shows how the good the game is that I can easily watch 20 mins of others playing it. 👍
That's the "Real Magic of PES 6 game and similar" isn't it ?
When old-made and outdated by modern standards game still can catch your attention reflexively displaying moments of real soccer in the base of created engine by KONAMI of those times.

Ah well after 2 years and 3 months here is the final of the LAC Cup 24-26 between Brazil and Belgium ...
