Some guys apparently think that they can speak for others, by saying "no one agrees" or "most people rather play FIFA". As you should understand thats besides not very smart also annoying to people who have a different opinion. The only clear advise for that is, speak for yourself.
Now to the subject. Is FIFA08 better than before, yes. Is it better than PES2008, no. Why? The answer is simpel, because its still much more arcade compared to PES2008. But why is EA's FIFA still hanging towards arcade instead of to simulation? Because EA's formula still works; arcade = more money.
Is PES2008 better than before, yes and no. Why no? Well for the hardcore fans PES2008 feels more arcade than ever before. And i agree, it does feel more arcade. But despite that, the core element of PES is still there. And thats the more realistic gameplay. But what was Konami thinking? Konami had some trouble with Sony about the releasedate of the game. Sony demanded an earlier release(before the holidays) for the PS3, despite Konami felt the development of PES2008 wasnt ready yet. So Konami had to release for all platforms a nearly optimized PES2008.
But is it worse than FIFA08, no. Why not? Like i mentioned before, it still has the better (realistic) gameplay. The real difference you see when you play at the hardest level. When you play FIFA08 at the highest level, it looks/feels like ping pong. When you play PES2008 at the highest level, it feels/looks like more of a real football match. Because you really have to try harder setting up an attack or try to prevent the opponent from attacking. Combined with the better physics makes PES2008 still the better soccergame.
