I cant understand that from one release to the next that I can barely run the new PES. On PES6 I could easily run it in the highest detail, with the highest LOD mixer settings. Now PES 2008 I cant run the game on medium 640x480. Can anyone help me, so it can run a bit better?

I have: Celeron 3.08ghz, 1gb RAM, Geforce FX5200

Your graphics card isn't good enough for PES08, you should be lucky to play on low with that one

Exactly. People think that PS3- and 360-equivalent games should run on a 12-year-old machine, or something. It is irritating.

look for a 7600GT, theyr about £60, check to see if you need pci-e or AGP 1st though. Still wont let you play on high though mate.

Sorry, but I have to correct you. A 7600 GT is sufficient for playing on high in at least 1280x720. A friend of mine plays it smooth with his A64 3500+, 7600 GT, 1 GB RAM.

dude you have a FX5200 which is a low end card from the FX series. its got a clock speed of 250mhz, i think thats enoguh to run the game on low mode 640x480. maybe not even.

you cant expect your 5 year old machine to play these high end games like crysis and pes2008. games these days are graphics intensive and require better machines. people demand better graphics every year! so the developers give it to them, as a result you will need a new video card which will be able to play it (6600gt, 8600gt etc)

if you're looking for a AGP card, your best bet is the 7600gs, thats probably the best card you can find on AGP platform. i dont believe they made 7600gt's in agp format but if you find one, good luck. 7800gt's were released on agp but you'd be looking to spend a lot more than 60 quid on it.

my 2x 7600gt in sli
runs pes2008 at 1280x1024 high settings with good 40-50fps.
single 7600gt
runs pes2008 at 1280x1024 high settings with less fps but still playable, need to turn down the lod settings.
my 6600gt AGP 550/1150mhz
runs pes2008 at 1280x1024 medium or 1024x768 high.

i havent tested on my 22" widescreens (natural 1680x1050) but so far it doesnt look promising. only the sli 7600gt's would do.

i can run it on the highest setting on low, with LOD settings as high as they go. but thats all. thanks for your help though.

i dont believe they made 7600gt's in agp format .

They did, and a mighty fine card it is to. Mine is overclocked to high hell, and I have just blasted my way through Call Of Duty 4 on Max settings, anyone with an AGP board could do much much worse than this card.

I am happy I can run the game at all, seeing as I don't even have a Graphics Card, but I can put some of my RAM into graphics. I have to run on Low quality and 800x600 resolution, but it still goes alright.
