Hi everyone,

For a lot of us, PES5 is still the best-playing PES ever made. And yes, you can still play it online: Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (PC) connects straight from the game's own network menu, just like when Konami's servers were up. No VPN, no Hamachi, no Radmin.

The fiveserver has been part of pes6.es since 2021. It runs on the same base as our PES6, PES 2008, PES 2009 and PES 2013 servers, and one pes6.es account works for all of them.

The PES5 lobby is quiet these days, and we'd like to change that. If you still love this game, come in and let's fill it up again.

What you can do

• A lobby with chat, just like in 2005
• Create your own room (with a password if you like) or challenge someone in theirs
• Your profile, with your favourite team and player
• The live lobby and rooms in the Fiveserver section on pes6.es

How to join
You need PES5 for PC and a pes6.es account.

1. Get the game. On pes6.es/downloads there's PES5 ready for our server: the original game, fully licensed, with extra stadiums and balls. Some folders include a short text file with instructions. We recommend this download so everyone has the same data.
2. Sign up at pes6.es/signup. In the PES5 serial field, enter the serial your game was installed with. Then activate your account from the email we send you. Usernames are case-sensitive, and the password can have up to 10 characters, letters and numbers only. Already have a pes6.es account? Add your PES5 serial in your profile and save it.
3. Edit your hosts file. Open Notepad as administrator, open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, remove any line that already has one of these names and add these two at the end:
   

   46.101.172.11 pes5gate-ec.winning-eleven.net
   46.101.172.11 we9stun.winning-eleven.net

   If you already play PES6 with us through the hosts file, you only need the first line. Then open a command prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns.
4. Log in from the game. Go to network mode and, in the password field, type your username and password joined by a hyphen. For example, if your username is Lampard and your password is Chelsea, type Lampard-Chelsea.
5. Pick the server NO PATCH PES6.es > No Patch / Original, and you're in.

If something goes wrong

• "There was an error in verification"? The PES5 serial in your pes6.es profile isn't the same as your game's. Fix it in your profile.
• Can't play against the other player? Forward UDP port 5739 to your PC on your router, or turn on UPnP. It's the same port as PES6, so if it's already open for PES6, you're fine. Close PES6 and PES 2008 before you start PES5.
• The match drops after a few minutes? Don't let Windows turn off the screen or go to sleep while you play. The gamepad doesn't count as activity for Windows.
