pes 5 computer ai attacking?

me and my brother have dusted off pes 5 and decided to do a master league together after he got fed up with ps3 version.

its a great game but one thing really annoys me is the AI just cant score or create alot of chances against us on 6*

we tested out other pes games to compare we tested PES 3,6,2008,2011 on PS2 and each one of those games the AI could attack reasonably well against us on top level.

anyone else noticed this about PES 5 I know it gets alot of love but it must be pointless playing against comp when it doesnt score! is WE9LE better against the cpu?

WE9LE is the better game first of all. So we should start with that

As for your question, I would say yes. Obviously it will never be like vs a Human, but back in a day, when we didn't have our online servers to play WE9LE with, I quite enjoyed playing against CPU. He usually passes the ball around, looking for opening, passing it backwards. It is very hard to dominate a agame, when you play against say Barca, or spanish NT.

Ofcourse, the better you get, it becomes less of a chalange, especialy once you "understand" how the CPU playes. You can't do that when you play with different people for example.

I would deffinetly advise you, and your brother, and anybody else to give WE9LE a go. If somebody would, please PM me.

It's the same for pes6
Some time I feem that the CPU don't wan't to win or to make 1 good attack

I forgot to add. Ofcourse the CPU in WE9LE, doesn't just pass sideways and backwards He will deffinetly pass forward when he sees good opening coming, and will hurt you at any opportunity.

I heard many people say, that in terms of playing against CPU WE9LE is one of the best.

Well, guys, do you know about PESFanEditor tool? It was developed for most versions of PES. You may find it at any site dealt with PES (as well as manual for users (noobs, loosers etc). Did you use it to change a gameplay? No, you didn't?! Those wonderful tool will allow you create crazy AI attacking. The only thing you should do is turn on your brains. It's the one-banana problem.

Well... True that, but you won't make a good game out of crappy one, no matter how much you tweak the stats. It's true, some made games better, like for PES6 for instance, but the stats won't change the core, and algoritms of the game. No matter how much you try and tweak the stats.

yeah PES5/WE9LE does become too easy against the computer after you have mastered it to the point I only conceded 3 goals in an ML season on 6 stars. It's such a pity because it plays a better game of football than Pes6, 6 is too automated but I still love it. Tweaking stats still does not make the AI in 5 shoot more even if you turn all the attackers up to 99s and full stars, Ive tried.I even turned all defenders stats way down. Nope. WE9LE is easily the best two player football game on any console or computer of any time.

have to agree buddy iv tweaked the stats and tested out pes 5 and still no joy its a big shame because the constant free kicks ect do not bother me one bit Its just the AI cannot score, the only let down for me on a great game.

I own all the copys of PES and did some checks to remind me how they played

played PES 3 earlier i was Newcastle v Arsenal and had a really great match didnt want it to end I lost 3-2 on 5 stars, the AI attacked so well and finished their chances perfectly.

one goal for them was exactly how Henry used to score cutting inside from the left with pace then side steeping my CB and blasting it in the far corner.PERFECT how it should be clinical.but plenty of taken chances for the computer to make a game of it .The game has aged a bit but is prob the best of the PES series..?

PES 2008 ps2 AI is prob the best attacking AI of them all they really go for it against you (leaving them a bit weak in defence but they make up for it with goals themselves) the pace of the game is pretty fast maybe too fast for some but its goals goals goals for you and the AI but nothing over the top like 8-6 ect

I had some great 4-3 games in ML mode against man united at old trafford that i always rem the computer would just not give in it was relentless also had some tight 1-1 draws against lower teams. if this was made for PC with kitserver ect I think it would have been a fav for some of the best PES players wanting a challenge from the AI

its a problem konami have always had they hit a sweet spot in the game but lose out in another part.The way 3 and 5 look and flow is really somthing great to play.

the perfect mix would be editing of 6 defence and look of 5 game balance of 3 and attacking of pes 2008 now that would be a dream game to play

Yeah great points there. 3 was a great game too, and just like 5 it had that "looseness" of the ball, it made you work harder for everything, and the rewards were always better. 6 whilst a great game reverted back to a more "on a string" feel that 4 had. Its almost like 5 was the upgrade to 3 and 6 was the upgrade to 4. Those crazy Japanese...lol.
Never played Pes2008 on Ps2 or in fact 09, 10 or 11 but I hear they are really strong games, a mile away from the Ps3/Xbox games which are painfully poor IMO. Pes2011 has at least a little potential but Im not holding out much hope for an amazing game in the near future. Im actually debating whether or not to pick up a cheap PS2 just to play these games. I probably will Im a true Pes nut!!!
