PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PC)

Football consists of defence and attack. Attacking has always been fun in football games. Defending in PES2019 is just as fun as attacking, which makes us feel like we are Ronaldinho.

In PES2019, I can really enjoy defending like in no other game.

Pes 2019 is very good indeed. Because of some murmur on the 2021 forum about 2019, decided to give it a go again. Shocked to find how much heavier and more substantial it feels compared to 2021, and how much better and crisper it looks. Really hammers home that they've been watering this game down to what it is currently.

If I can find a good concurrent or classic patch for 2019, I'm jumping in again.
Puzzles me that I've played this for "only" 250 hours total, and three times as many on 2021.

Hano patch (on YouTube) is a decent patch for the latest season

Hi guys.. I downloaded PES2019 and It's amazing. I don't remember to be this good. I'm learning to play with manual controls. But there is something that bothers me. When you make a cross inside the area, your players never jump to win or at least to try to hit the ball. It's annoying

How could you win headers (using FUMA). Thanks ind advance

I remember KnightMD mentioning in one of his videos that scoring a header in PES 19 was extremely hard.

I agree with the above that scoring headers is generally very hard by base in 19, CPU seems to be overpowered in aerial duels and things like defenders with the acrobatic clear ability will often look like they can steal your headers with a bycicle kick even in the most desperate situations.

However, I still managed to score some satisfying ones in my first Genoa ML season. I was also coincidentally working on an highlight of my favourites in my first Genoa's season of Pes 2019, will publish it for the occasion:

I don't play FUMA, but some tips I can give you that (unless FUMA is bugged or something in this regard) could probably work the all same:
1. Pick wingers/fullbacks with the pinpoint crossing, it truly helps a lot with how much a cross can be dangerous
2. Watch the positioning of your forwards, sometimes you'll notice they are naturally attacking the first post and the defender is slightly behind them, that's the best moment to cross in
3. Super cancel! Of course it's not a free for all, but if you time it correctly it helps a lot running away from your defender and it also makes for the most satisfying headers imho (you can see an example in the very first header of my video above, I think the most satisfying of the whole season).
4. Pick a good header, pretty obvious but worth to remind it 😉

The problem it's with FUMA. When you execute a cross inside the area the striker doesn't do anything. The player don't try to jump or anything. That's the issue. Assisted pass, at least the striker tries to jump and hit the ball

I have a lot of mods for fl25.... And pes19 is still much better. You have summarized everything. Graphics. Playable. Etc. It's a shame that the mod adaptation is complex. Stadium etc.... Even if there are modders who are progressing well.
Yeah, I recently took the plunge into downloading older PES titles on my PC. 2017, 2018 and FL25.

Out of the 3, 2017 immediatly felt the most playable. 2018 feels good too, and nice graphics for the PC. But with all the hype about FL25 I was a bit disappoined by the gameplay. Players are super slow and heavy. I guess I had built my expectations up very high but I can see why people rate '17 so highly.

Probably it is also a matter of adaption - if I stuck to several games of FL25 I am sure I would then get 'more into it' but it didn't give me that immediate satisfacton that the older titles can give you.

Curious about 19 now after reading this thread!

There feels so much more in PES titles now then there does in efootball. Efootball is great for PVP in short but nothing else. Being a family man now, I feel PES master league is just a lot more compatible with my life now. PVP on the other hand demands a certain obsession and you can't pause games like you can with offline.

It feels wrong saying this a day after the 5 year anniversary of PES 2021, but it very well might be the most overrated game in the series, even when it has been heavily modded

Well glad it isn't just me that felt that way!

Also, the graphics seem super saturated, it actually gave me bad eye strain. Not sure if that is down to stadiums themselves or whether I need to download a mod for a reshade preset?

But yeah, right now I have little interest in going to Football life. I feel like 2017-2019 is the sweet spot of recent enough PES graphics and gameplay wise but not so recent where the gameplay went downhill.

Somehow PES 19 had far better graphics and gameplay than PES 20/21, don't know how they went backward.

hasnt every game from 20-25 (Fifa EAFC included) gone backwards?
To me PES 19 looks better than 20-21, so do FIFA 17 vs more modern titles, and plays hell of a lot better
