Basic!
See what I mean?
You should definetely try Advanced. As well as Manual Passing.
You might get VERY frustrated and hate the whole game at first, but once you master it, it changes the overall experience.

Basic!
Look at all these sim goals. Even one near post smash with the weak foot and a top corner screamer off balance. Again, I'm not claiming the shooting is perfect, it isn't but the old games are far too fondly remembered.

The technology at that time was stretched to the limits to achieve.
The technology today isn't capable of doing anything better?...15 years of nothing?
And as for the guy calling me blind and disabled, I rest my case.
Tried. I dont like them. No stats involved but we all going trough this conversation every yeartweaked shooting is not a solution for me. Stat based shooting it is which is absent since 2013.
The impact of the stats made old PES games sim+ body position + surrounding elements. Both for passing and shooting. They arent in 2014,2015,2016,2017 and in these department 2018 looks the same so far.
One questions. Do you like PES 2017 shooting or not?
people just don't notice things, and then say it's the same game. New penalty kicks can be smashed with power now, plus that shity out dated camera (i hated) has finally bin replaced.New goalkeeper animations on PK

If you want to play advanced shooting. Fine. I just dont.

At the first time, shooting looked "fine" at least "promising", and now on it's the same shit as older PES... Even worst for some members, who seriously needs to balance their own judgement and point of view on what's good, better, or not at all.
Wait a bit to play the beta at least...
I like PES2017's Advanced Shooting, which is stat based. Five seasons into an ML and using nothing but Advanced Shooting since I got the game on release day (apart from when I went to test Basic and Manual briefly, especially after conversations around Basic shooting) informs me that is very much the case. If it weren't then the ML Default forward I had at the start of my campaign would still be playing up top and not Nilmar or Maxi Lovera.
I can feel it immediately when I am using Basic as opposed to Advanced when considering things like power, placement and technique. There is still some of things with Basic, but nowhere near the level that is apparent with Advanced.
Are you sure? Because PES 5-6 (and older versions) were actually more of a pick-up-and-play game, where you didn't need to learn much and there weren't many options to change shooting system. So you were stuck with that but it was easy enough to get the hang of.
Yet i had to play ISS2 from 8pm til 8am for the first time to beat my brother who had experience bc before i only played TIF and FIFA.
Now what are you trying to say? New age PES shooting is identical to old PES shooting?
If this is an effect only for him...
No, no way.
I'm saying there's an extra layer now which you are free to try and learn.
If you don't want to, it's fine. But don't come and say shooting is shit, or stats don't matter, or it doesn't feel rewarding to score, or whatever other reasons I've read from the people who hates shooting. Could it be better? Hell yeah, it could be a lot better. Like in FIFA 16. But if you care enough then, why don't you dedicate the same time you spend complaining about it to learning how to work with Advanced Shooting and Manual Passing?. THEN you can say it's bad, basic or whatever.
Isn't it surprising to you that my first question (ever) to you was: Are you talking about Basic or Advanced shooting?......
Curdstar I was a longtime WENB lurker before it went to pot and your personal attack on Lami is uncalled for. It's well known you were within the WENB inner circle and probably still are. He's not attacking your friends just pointing out fundamental issues that keep getting ignored.
Advanced shooting was broken in 2015 and 2016 it hit the top post 8/10 times. Really stat matter in that case? And personally i think its way too overthought system. It could make only sense if you play Be a Legend with behind the player camera, other cases its just a..."why did you make it like this?" case to me.
And manual? No just doesnt make sense that stats working.
Stats wrapped around assisted settings. Higher stats means easier to play with higher success ratio, lower means harder with lower ratio. That scale in 2015-2018 is not wide enough. Hence no impact of stats.
Ever since I went missing from the site, which was nothing to do with the site or the people behind it, but other aspects of my life taking over (for better and worse) I haven't attended a playtest event since 2012, for PES2013. I am currently enjoying just being a fan, but have been mulling over getting back involved in things in some way, but more likely my own venture. I might, if the guys were allowed to and they would want me to, be allowed some access, but it would be very much my own take and approach. That is to look to try represent fans my age (I'm 42 next month, so probably an older audience) while still sticking to my roots and what I want from a football game.
I am not in some inner circle but yes, Adam, Asim, Thomas and others are folk whom I would consider as friends. That is not my angle, and I wasn't attacking Lami, at least not intentionally, and more trying to point out being politically incorrect, saying whatever is on your mind and not caring who likes it or not or who is offended, but still getting wound up about those people not listening, really would be a fools errand, and would come across as schizophrenic.
I gave Lami an example of that when referring to what I thought about his post, but also him in general, and how that contrast could clearly impact on quality of communication, the likelihood is he would focus more on the first part of my statement as opposed to the second. The first part of my statement would likely drive how he would communicate or interact. Knowing your audience and sometimes actually not speaking your mind or with raw emotion all the time is actually a quality, not a weakness, when considering communication and particularly when offering feedback. I was highlighting that.
Another thing that is a quality is knowing when you are wrong and look to correct, so yes, absolutely, I should've been less course with my example when replying to Lami.
