Apparently Konami didn't think of that. No offensive player goes forward when the defender move to the goal post (at least until PES 2014). So it's a clear advantage for the defender, but no significant advantage (if not at all) to the attacking team.

One of Konami's greatest achievements are player's physiques, faces and specially: Their eyes. PES players have soulful eyes. FIFA players have soulless eyes, they look dead. When you look at Neymar, even in PES 2015, there's something in him that almost instantly make you believe the face is great.

We already thought Neymar face was awesome last year when we first saw it in PES 2015, but now we realize it was alright... this year it's truly photo-realistic. Which makes one wonder, if they were able to make faces this real... what they could do with turfs, kits, crowd, overall gameplay lighting.... OMG. I highly doubt they went THIS far with everything, but I'm confident they'll get there next year.

You can move your own players in set pieces with the right stick.

Cmon guys. Imo it looks fucking realistic. I thougth first it's a real footage. The animations, net phisycs, how the defender slides and the keepers body reacts to hitting the ground. I'm optimistic and drunk
 
no one can capture player likness on real level for a really big while, only momentums. the last two PES Neymar face does it really well yet they are completely different faces
 
Did you guys notice how much Neymar face changed from the first trailer video we saw to this version? AMAZING! Now it is absolutely perfect. I'm talking about the face itself. Let alone lighting and stuff.
 
very good comments ... I followed this thread in last 14 pages and really enjoy how are good and careful some comments, so I just join :)

I want to say:

don't blame net lovers :D
ok ... the game still need a lot of improvement
nets was awful last year and now it is acceptable ( of course gameplay is more important but I am talking about we need at least the minimum level for other things! ... we hadn't even minimum level ... now we got the minimum about nets and I can be carefree about its details )

I think the other problem to should get improvement to reach minimum level ! is goalkeepers ...
yeah, better AI needed and it's very important, but if it's hard to get now, **at least** we need better and faster and more beautiful !! diving animation when they concede a goal

in the recent video why Buffon is diving to the goal line direction?!!!
is he going to reach the ball after the ball passed him ?!!!
he should definitely try to react in his left side direction, not his backward direction !!

I don't think this would be hard to programming an code writing ... just consider the point that ball passing GK, not the point that ball passing goal line ...

plus that absolutely need a lot of new animation for GK to be just acceptable !

after that goalkeepers reach the minimum acceptable level ! that's time to work on other problems
now GK is most important problem

I won't judge based on the video, but I agree, that in 2015 they were main problem.

What I see in this leaked video is a lot of new animation like the sliding of the defender, the goalkeeper animation.. and to me looks great, also the replay.speed seems to be not slo-mo..

If I'm optimistic the direction of the dive can be explained by the fact, that because of the sliding defender, the keeper realized thr ball late, that's why the diving direction is backwarda..

The realism of the player models is impressive, such as how realistic the player faces and shirt fabrics look, but the grass doesn't look anywhere near as realistic as a real football match.

Maybe it's difficult for developers to use a highly realistic grass texture while getting a high frame rate, even on the PS4/XBONE. On TV, a real football pitch looks vibrant, lush with so much depth of color. No football game has replicated that.

The main problem, I guess, it's that their making a game with mainly one console in mind, hence the limitations. If they were making it aiming at a super-high-end PC, I'm sure things would be a lot different. Everything would be a lot more on the same level as that Neymar face. They are limiting themselves.

yeah, If it don't repeat at many situation, It's ok
but recent years GK problems make me a little pessimist about it :))

I don't think so ...
I guess this is about time shortage (at least to reach the level of fifa's grass)
konami start from zero point in new engine on 2014 and have a lot of work that can't do all together, plus they have smaller development team than EA ...
I guess in these years they focus on gameplay and in the future (maybe 2 or 3 years later) we will be near the maximum graphic in this generation

remember at last generation (Ps3&xbox360) ... although the engine was similar to PS2, however we got leaped graphic on 3rd year (2010) and got maximum graphic on 4th year (2011)

so 4th year for this generation will be 2018, I expect best pes graphic at that time.

i just hope at least one of the two footy games will be finally playable and enjoyable this year with no major gamebreakers again
