PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Calling something as drivel as you know it's true fouls don't get called in this game.

Here is screenshot from demo. Played Spain vs Germany (as Germany myself), Top player.

Stats:

Proves my point. Check Fouls count for both teams. ZERO!

This game is sterile... I got 1 freekick in like 15 games played. Plus yes, I do use Right Stick a lot.

So nope. Fouls don't get called often enough and I can show you easily which fouls would get called irl on PES, but are not.

This continues in retail game too. Funny thing is, shooting from outside box works fine here (scoring from 35 yards out is possible, but hard to get power/accuracy right). Goalkeepers are still bogey as hell though ;).

Player awareness is mixed bag, sometimes good, sometimes worse than in retail game .

Player switching still has slight delay for me.

Would need some time extender now as 10 min games don't bode well with me when it comes to PES :P.

I encourage PC users to try the demo out. There is also no sluggishness to player turns here, first time shots are also possible.

u just can't but bash konami for this game, one thing works, but the other things don't work, what the heck!!! demo released after oblivion time.... november patch we are waiting, credit to yairpatch to make this game at least playable a bit.
i admit also, games end foulless on many occassions.

I don't agree on switching part. Still not as fast and crisp as on PES 2013.

YouTube - Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 PC DEMO - Bayern Munchen vs Man Utd - HD

Here is video taken on Demo.

Yes, shooting from outside the box now has power. Pretty much what retail misses.

It's probably same code, PS3/X360 users got with their 2nd demo. It feels faster then retail game too.

Passing is crisp and goes exactly where you aim.

Still fouls are uncalled. This needs addressing in November patch. As game end foul less ;).

Still Goalkeepers need work, but... I feel player awareness is much better here. O_o

Shame that games are limited to 5 min halves :(.

Fingers crossed the improved shooting is in the November patch as well as better player awareness.

This so-called demo doesnt sound legit to me, why have we not seen any official links for it? just some links on mega and another filehost? seems suspect to me.

How is it suspect. The link is on reputable PES sites as well as Konami's and has been played by several users on the forum

I played it and it's true. The gameplay is much better than full, but played only one match so can not give a detailed opinion. But in a few minutes you realize that a game is more polished than the full.

So... Instead of releasing the patch first for they're loyal fans Konami decides to release the demo with fixed gameplay and leave the rest of us waiting without even giving us a date !!?!???! ...

I do understand that the demo must the best code available to try and sell more copies but for us that bought the game this is really a bad move... The message I see here is that I shouldn't have bought the game at launch day and should have waited about 3 months... And that's what I´ll do next year.

I downloaded it, I installed it, I played it; can't get more legit than that.

I never played or bought PES 2014, this was my first experience with it. Not sure what all the pre-release hype was about to tell the truth. A graphics and animations upgrade from 2013 sure, as it should be. But it still feels like the same old PS2-era game Konami's been pawning off on gamers this entire console generation.

Lol, it doesn't play differently than the retail.

If anything it is just the same as v1.00 (prior to the patch v1.1), you can check the .exe. The last "date modified" mean nothing. It could be they simply removed the SecuROM check, that's all.

PES community is the king of placebo, thought everybody knew that.

Will have to see what the patch brings but to be honest as long as they add the ability to score outside the box and improve awareness and the keepers ill be happy.

We just received exactly the same game as there is on XBOX 360 / PS3. LOVELY PES which I have enjoyed from the first second of playing it. I can't believe KONAMI didn't release a retail version with that code. Animations, responsiveness, even the colours / contrast is fixed. I can't even describe how big my hope is to get a November patch which makes this game the same as the demo. Can't play the full version anymore.

Do not say guys it is the same code as in retail version. It's not. Much things has been changed!

PC Retail Version - 4/10
PC Demo Version - 9/10

is the xbox version same as the pc demo code????

I dont understand Konami's thought process at all - release a demo when people have bought the game weeks and weeks ago and the game is in a right fucking mess on PC - surely common sense would be to release the patch first, then release the demo? Considering people have paid out money for a product that plays like shit, I thought we would come first. It's still incredible that its taken so long for Konami to release the demo on PC.

Irritating to say the least :/

Yeah it is the same as what console guys got as demo (as I don't count leaked one as official).

The funny thing is, losseless said it's not different from full game.

Well, it is. Tried full game again and compared head to head with demo.

Demo is without full game problems on manual mode (0 bars feels like it should). You can aim anywhere, headers work fine, you can shoot and score from outside of the box because shots have got POWER. Scored beautiful Gerrard goal vs France from 30 yards out into top corner :). Something you can't do on retail code for some reason.

I still don't like player switching mechanics, idiots between goalposts and sometimes player awareness is way off (players standing there like zombies :P), AI is piss easy even on Top/Superstar - had 70% possession for Gods sake .

But on the whole it plays more smoothly, turning animations are better (there is no sluggishness). Wonder what the fook is going on at times in PES HQ O_O.

Why did they release the game early in Europe/America? WHY?! If you said release date was November, people would have waited (hardcore PES fans wouldn't touch FIFA and other gamers would pick something else in the meantime), but you would give people much better product O_O.

I cannot understand.

Vadim seriously?

It's all in your head. Header, first timer, controlled shot on manual, all are broken, just like in the final code.

Shooting has never lack power, that's not the issue. The real issue is it is almost impossible to score from long range. No difference on this demo.

Advance shooting, collision system, passing and everything else just stay the same. Although i can believe if you claim there's less technical issue like input lag, frame rate etc. But gameplay change? Not a chance.

And when they do that they'll be called amateurs for letting EA get in first and sell their game to the masses with no Konami game in sight for the next 2 months, and consider them failures.

Right?

Still better than what they're actually doing this year.

Right?

They look worse than amateurs with what they did this year mate.

Believe me, press is ruthless, fans are very disappointed in their effort. I am not talking about Evo-Web alone.

How come any company release such a mess, unfinished game is beyond any reason or understanding from European Development perspective. It's disaster!

Maybe Japanese guys think otherwise. Dunno.

And do you believe PES 2014 even scratched EA FIFA? For me, it made it worse, because it made people move again to other titles. ;)

the one who said demo is same code as final retail. ;)

For me, it is not the same. It's much closer to PS3/X360 demos released way back in September.

Really can't predict what they will do with 1.02. patch.
