Okay, I need some feedback from you all PC players.

I'm running patch 1.01, with a wired X360 controller.

When my player has the ball, using L1+right stick enables me to use the right stick and point a line on the pitch to one of my teammates I want to make a run. Works fine.

When I don't have the ball, using the same command (L1 + right stick) will give you manual player select, also with a graphic on the pitch to indicate where you are pointing the right stick.
However, this only allows me to point the stick up, down, left and right. So if I quickly circle the right stick I will only see the line change on the pitch when it points in those directions.
But like I mentioned, when in possession of the ball and using the same command to select player to run, it works fine and angles in the exact direction I aim the right stick.

Obviously my gamepad gives proper input, so why not when changing player?

My brother mentioned he had no problems, and he used a wired PS3-pad for his.

Can someone else confirm or otherwise?

I have tried both the official Microsoft X360 PC drivers, aswell as the XBCD ones.

after some tweaks and updating driver my PES 2014 now runs smoothly. Not really any problems, dead balls in corners and goal kicks a little laggy but good for now.

This game is very good, addictive it still has the Defensive AI error from the demo and lacks responsiveness here and there. Surprised how great this game is considering it''s not 100% finished yet.

Yeah after you've installed it you've then got to go to the statistics tab, log in to your konami id account and it'll download the update, at least that's what I had do even after installing the download link given by Konami.

After you've downloaded the patch and installed it, and (in my case not sure for everyone) downloaded and installed it again when it connects you online when you boot up the game.

Yeah there's no statistics tab before you download the 1.01 patch. Gotta download and install it as described in my other post. Although I may have downloaded the update in game before getting the stats tab to appear, been awake for too long now so not much help.

Exactly same, i couldn't even get patch working either so i've completely wiped everything off and trying to restart, to see if that makes any difference.

After updating with the patch to 1.01, the game has 4 icons to the left of the main menu, statistics being one of them. I think that wasn't there on 1.00. :)

Exactly this. And I struggled to connect to the servers about 3 times so keep restarting your game if it doesn't work on your 1st attempt.

I've posted my thoughts on PES 2014 quite often in the console section, but at the moment I feel like ranting about what I dislike about the game.

Player switching/off the ball awareness is abysmal. This issue is exacerbated from the fact that my CPU teammates make very little attempt to anticipate and pursue loose balls without the help of my delayed input. I shouldn't have to control everything the CPU does, it's just not feasible. Give them a bit more urgency. Keepers seem more prone to controller tossing blunders than in the demo. I've scored and conceded some truly atrocious goals. Defenders go on a walkabout every now and again.

League mode (what little I've played) makes for a depressing experience. I think I'll wait for modders to add stadiums because I refuse to play every other match in the Konami Stadium. They removed the league mode for 2013, but had every La Liga stadium. This year it's the complete opposite. Brilliant. BAL is a huge bust as it's completely devoid of any character. Say what you will about cut scenes, but they offered something a little different. They should have improved upon them not taken them out. You can also start in any league so there's very little sense of accomplishment. If they're so concerned about streamlining the player experience, why on earth do you still have to wait for the match to finish when you've been subbed off? Why is the fast forward option slower than previous years?

The majority of day matches still look like they take place at dawn and have that unattractive, greyish/orange tint to them. Can't stand it. Another year of sticking to night matches until some proper turfs get released. Faces? No further details are necessary (thank God for PC). Finesse shot should read: Use R1 for balloon physics.

Nothing too game breaking which is why I'm not overly concerned. Despite all of that it's still the best football game I've ever played, and it looks fantastic with SweetFX. It's just a shame that everything surrounding the gameplay is rather poor.

I couldn't keep up with the tread, so I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but: is there a lack of responsiveness on shooting? I prees the button and the player seems to take several seconds to take the shot. I struggle to build up one or two good plays in a game and can't complete it! =D

1024x768 in high 60 fps constants
above, had an ATI 4670 512 mb, could play in low, and had moments delay
Now I can play much better
I'm sorry, right now I have not much money to spend, I Invested everything in my new bajaj Rouser 220

Got it to work in the end, had to completely remove everything then it worked once patched as mentioned :).

Control shots are definitely pretty useless. So many times with brazilian league teams I've seen the AI get clear on goal after a throughball, and the resulting shot is a tad SLOWER than the throughball. This was pre-1.01 patch though, but the whole experience was just really floaty and lacking that distinct "omph" feeling to taking a shot. In general as you get close to the goal the game automatically scales back the shot power it seems, which I absolutely hate. If I am clear on goal with Ibrahimovic, I should have the option to absolutely kill the keeper with a shot, not have him automatically strike what looks like a light pass towards the corner of the goal, where the keeper always just misses it.

These things are so obvious, and while they are maybe only 25% off, it makes for a huge difference in how it feels. I still maintain that this is necessary because some other aspect is not able to cope with different settings. For example keepers not being able to do very quick reflex saves, so they wouldn't be able to save normal-powered shots and thus KONAMI have scaled it back. Something like that.

My wireless X360 pad works fine. ;)

I hope they also improve the transfer-mode.
When I'm home, I'll install 1.01 and wait for new news. :)
I think they'll fix the other little bugs aswell in next 2 weeks.
Then PESEDIT release their patch, Jenkey his Gameplaytool and PES2014 is finally perfect - I bet. :)

I'm out for today, see you maybe tomorrow, when not, I'll be back on monday, with a bigger review, cuz I'll play the whole weekend. :D

Does anyone know how to get it to display in full screen mode?

i have that option ticked in settings, but it plays in windowed mode?!

Yeah definitely. It's been this way in PES for ages and I noticed it in the demo too. Only one player will ever try to challenge for a loose ball, the other guys stand off whilst the one you're controlling goes for it. You pretty much have to play on assisted control and think quickly in order to select the player before intercepting the ball. It's not very good but this is the best way around it.

It offers an update, should i use this? And cursor switching seems knackered. I can't swith and my players seem to be doing their own thing. I can only switch when i got the ball.
