PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

first thing i noticed was no frame skip and vsync options, good i guess for online play same setup for everyone unless 3. party tools changing something
runs at 60 fps by default, playd free train. mode only so far for a few mins.

it seems that no default AA is applied unlike some older game, looks edgy

1) does changing priority in task manager do anything? like make it more smooth or better response?
just asking, always this stuff going on with PC titles last years..

2) how to remove the thingy on corner kicks, dont like it

Vsync is on by the default code.
1) Experiment with the render frames ahead option in NCP.
2) Press RT button if I remember well. Or RB. One of those for sure.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Could someone please explain how to use sweetFX please?

Do you just drop the files in the game directory or is it more involved than that?!
cheers

Yes you just drop the files into the game directory. It is really simple :)

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

ah so its a button thing, weird
why i cant disable it in menu? :CONFUSE:

thx anyway

pre render 1 already in through radeon pro, response seems fine
was just asking maybe it helps somehow changing prio., not that i had issues or something :p

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hmmmm.....sounds like a bit of a mess, this PC release.

I think this game will really shine in the graphics department once the modders get stuck into it. They are playing catch-up as a consequence of Konami denying us a demo, hence it may take a few weeks before we get the real PC goodies.

The LOD Mixer tool makes a hell of a difference by itself. I must admit, PES2013 doesn't look anything special out-of-the-box. Sharper than the console versions but otherwise quite ordinary. With the LOD tool, high-res pitch textures, HD kits and so forth, PES2014 will look considerably better.

Hopefully this motherfucker will drop through my letterbox tomorrow and I can see how it runs on my system. I'm running...

i5 2500k @4.5GHz
Radeon HD7950 3GB @1125/1500
8GB DDR3
Windows 8

...so I don't envisage any problems running this thing at max settings. We shall see.

Disable the AA override on your graphics card.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

So compared to the official Xbox360 demo, the PC version feels so less defined and crisp when moving and running. I played alot with Spain on the demo, and playing with them now, there is a ridiculous amount of foot sliding going on. The demo had that feeling where you knew how many steps the player would take and exactly where he would end up, so you knew where you'd have to make a certain move before a player got to you, etc. Here it's just... floaty. I am getting very little of the steady, anchored feeling I got from the demo.

Is any1 else having the exact same feeling? Like i posted in greek in wehellas.gr, I have tried for hours the PS3 COMPLETE version, and it felt much tighter and faster than this one. This one looked like the demo, but in complete version. My theory is, konami tried to promote xbox ps3 version, leaving earlier code intact in PC version, only to UPDATE ALL VERSIONS to 1.01, today! It might be just theorycraft, but tomorrow we might be playing a different game.

Yep, I can see what people are saying about it feeling less crisp with movement. We'll see what the patch brings but the 360 demo did feel tighter than the PC game.

It may be possible. For the record, I'm using the exact same setup as when playing the 360 demo, the same 360 gamepad, the same monitor, the same distance from the monitor. Something playing a game in a friends house and having a different viewing angle or screen size can make everything seem a bit unusually proportioned, but there is nothing of that going on here.

I will definitely wait for the 1.01 version, but after a few hours of the PC version I turned it off and didn't really have that "need to play again right away" feeling I got just days ago on the 360.

You will be fine.

I have

Intel Core Duo II 2.88GH
Geforce 440
4 GB Ram
Windows 7

This should be able to run the game well but doesn't currently due to slowdowns in replays, goal kicks, corners and opening cutscenes :(

Think i might need to get a whole new computer.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

the game not working with me I keep getting this message "pro evolution soccer 2014 has stopped working" every 20 tries the game work one or two times only what I should do ?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

No you shouldn't your CPU is weak and your graphics card isn't even a gaming card...

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

2018 is long time ahead....5 years mate...5 years

Ha yeah, I know that now. I was unaware of EA's intention to 'support' CG until 2018. That pretty much confirms a five year wait.

Having said that, I'm not liking the performance issues some people are having with PES 2014 - on rigs that are much more powerful than mine.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I partially agree with this. I don't think it ever hurts to try and get more licenses and as the people negotiating for licenses would have almost nothing to do with the actual game design there's no reason they should change their priorities.

I do believe, however, that Konami is seriously underplaying their game 'world'. The player id system is so good, but yet there is rarely a player with less than 50-60 in most stats, which means there could easily be another lower level of teams and players to start from. This could all be fake teams for all I care. But we could have multiple leagues with lower divisions in each and just that would make a larger world to inhabit which would feel better. I'd love at the lowest level to get excited when I manage to sign a winger with pace of 60!. Having a more complete structure would straight away make a career mode more fulfilling, the only downside would be the extra time required to simulate the rest of the world that you aren't directly involved in. However, modern PC's can handle this with ease and this is surely the last year of being tied to the current-gen systems, so we could afford this overhead.

For me, there are many things they could add to a career mode which would be 'interesting' but the biggest win would just adding more level depth to the 'bottom' of the game.

The other thing I would love, although it's quite difficult to get right, is to actually have youth players being 'new' players. The 'other' game was 'okay' for this the last time I played it (a couple of years ago). However I still saw a lot of similar youth players appearing and the lack of players feeling very different anyway meant it felt watered down. Football Manager took a fair few years to actually get their 'newgen' system right. But if we actually had random new players appearing, I would adore it.

Let's hope someone at Konami is thinking along the same lines as us. I very much doubt it though - PES has had this lack of depth ever since I first tried it back with PES 4; what's going to change now? :(
