Yea, I used that one too. It was the best.

Edit: Actually I believe he made several versions of it.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

So is there any way i can play pes 2014 on windows xp guys?

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Yeah but some people just want to put the disc in the drive and play. There is a lot to be said for that.

I agree with you, though. I've got used to tinkering with settings and the reward is usually worth it. PC gaming allows the best of all worlds. If you want a rock solid frame rate you can adjust settings for that. Some don't care about the frame rate and want all the eye candy they can get. Others are lucky enough to have a card that can do both.

Most of the time that's what you do on PC though. In fact you don't even have to do that as the vast majority of games no longer need the disc after you've installed the game.

So is there any way i can play pes 2014 on windows xp guys?

XP is an antiquated and basically dead O/S - Win 7 is better in every possible way. More and more games will stop supporting XP now, so you'd be well advised to upgrade to at least Win 7.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

But i have a slow pc and windows 7 will slow it down. Althout pes 2013 was played at 60fps high settings at decent hd res.

Pentium d 2.66ghz
Rdeon 4670 ddr3 1gb
2gb ram

So i was not asking whether i should get a upgrade...im asking if it is possible to play pes 2014 on my pc.

Thanks.

I'm no expert, but I think the new engine will struggle on that set up. You're going to have to upgrade if you want to play modern games - not only will games not support XP, they'll also struggle to run on your system.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Ordered from shopto.net - hopefully RoyalMail won't give a shit!

What you gonna do after installing Pro 14? First thing I will do is make sure my PC is powerful enough to run it up max out, training first, just a free kicking for a bit :-) Can't wait. The last time when I was waiting for any football game was in 2005, when Pro 6 came out :)

Agreed, dude you would need to upgrade your PC to play next gen games. Upgrade as soon as it is possible for you. Your are playing with previous generation components.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Windows XP - The OS Windows 7 should have been.

All MS should have done was re-release XP with next-gen graphics. Oh well.

True story.

XP is a slow, clunky p.o.s. compared to Win 7. Win 7 is better in every possible way. Game hard crashes in XP? System reboot. Game hard crashes in Win 7? Ctrl-Alt-Delete out to desktop, close game process and restart it. That feature alone makes Win 7 far superior to Win XP.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

It's just a fact of PC gaming life that you need to upgrade components every couple of years. Failure to do so and the whole thing becomes obsolete.

If you are savvy you can update components every couple of years without spending huge amounts by selling your old parts to cover some of the cost towards upgrades.

For instance, my 7950 only cost me about £100 after selling my old GPU to put towards it.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Works fine for me?

Yes, it looks like they are not allowing non-UK/European customers to buy PES 2014! It looks they are using an IP Filter!

Jammiedodger, game purchase is for downloading/digital version?

Thanks!

What - did you sell your old GPU on ebay? What about Mobo/RAM/CPUs; do you reckon they'd buy that as well because pretty soon I'll be doing the whole new mobo upgrade, which means new RAM and CPU as well. If I can sell those components instead of chucking them, I'd make a decent amount of money.

And you're right - if you know what you're doing, you can save plenty of money. For example, always go mid range; never go top of the range because unless you're running some mega/multi monitor setup, there will be nothing out there that needs that much power.

The last card I had before this one started life at £300 - ATI XT1950 or something like that; I can't remember. Six months later, it had dropped to £150 or less. My current 6850? £93 from Amazon, and it came with a code for DiRT 3. Always shop around. ;)

Very rarely if ever one must reboot the system with XP, depends on the used software though. But still, that ctrl+alt+del thing has worked well with XP and was invented even before XP, you know. :)

XP doesn't have proper support for 64-bit systems, hence no support for 4gb+ RAM. Genuinely, for me, that's the only downside with XP (even though no-one's really ever needed over 4gb of RAM, unless working with 3ds max or something). And the legendary DirectX 9.0c was quite enough, let's face it.

7 may be nice in one or two ways, but surely they over-complicated things with DEPs and UACs and compability modes and "installs as admins", and what else. The very prospect of having to upgrade makes me shiver.

I may not be 100% serious with all of this, but then again, I never am.

Sold my GPU on AVForums classifieds. I've sold a few things on there. Actually my 7950 was free because I sold my 7850 and PS3 to fund it.

You'll be surprised what you can sell and how much you'll get for it, but it really depends how old your stuff is. Parts like the CPU, RAM and motherboard don't need upgrading often. If they have served 5 or 6 years then they may not have much resale, but you've got your money's worth out of them.

With the GPU it's probably best to change it every two years max, that way you can sell your old one while it still has some value and isn't obsolete. You can probably spend around £100 a year and keep a current range GPU in your system so you can play all the latest games on high settings.

And you're right - if you know what you're doing, you can save plenty of money. For example, always go mid range; never go top of the range because unless you're running some mega/multi monitor setup, there will be nothing out there that needs that much power.

Top of the range is fine if you've got the money but the best value in the GPU market seems to be in the upper-mid/lower-high range cards. At the moment the GTX670 and Radeon HD7950 are the best 'bang-for-buck' cards, both of which can be found for under £200 and will play all games at high or max settings.

If only playing at 1080p then the £400+ GPUs really aren't necessary.

This is how you do it. :))

The 560ti is still a good little card that's easy to sell. The 670 punches well above its weight for the price. A great upgrade.
