PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Oh good, more great work Konami:

Pro Evolution Soccer
‏@officialpes
@AleU85 the STEAM launch date for #PES2014 has not been confirmed yet. We'll keep you updated.

That was posted last night :(

Yes, really weird!! It seems Konami does not care about PC sales, no pre-order options, really bad strategy for the PC game market were there is like a 90% piracy rate.

It is very clear for me now that PES team is a small one and they are very disorganized!

But probably is Konami´s fault, not PES Members, it seems Konami does not hire enough people so all team members are simply working against time without proper planification, examples:

1) E3 demo had rain but slowed down gameplay, Konami removed feature instead of fixing it....

2) Only 20 stadiums available.

3) Game is been released without proper faces!

4) Online mode looks to be exactly the same (not sure where is the "New" online platform)

I am really excited about new gameplay but it seems that Konami is not giving us a complete game once again.

Not sure what will happen next year with PS4 release!! Let´s pray for the best!! I simply do not believe they will release a whole different game based on their history.

Sorry for been to negative, but we are the loyal customers and we deserve the best, simple as that!

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Pretty sure Gaming Dragons is not a reliable source. That's what I heard anyway.

I agree

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm more than convinced that the Konami corporation/whoever is above Masuda is the main responsible for the yearly mess that is a PES release. And because it is Japan, no one would even dare to point fingers, so things never completely change.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

@Bitter Rivals @_anderson:

Thanks for your opinions, completely agree the issue might be with Konami as the company, not PES members!

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

In all fairness, I have no idea what size their team is however I would expect it to be allot smaller than EA and the funding that goes with it.

Although I agree with what you have said, I can only commend konami at this moment.

What they have done with the gameplay is something else, and it is on current gen.

Yes, they have no doubt been working on this for years? Could that be why the previous versions were still not the best, or they didn't have enough resource to fully develop and push the releases.

I feel it is far from a finished product and although gameplay is the better of the two franchises as a whole package FIFA knocks it out of the park.

It all comes down to preference on what people want

The majority of people on this site would appreciate the better realism of pes, I think they have achieved that this year to some extent.

Game play, crowd noise, graphics are all very good.

Still many things lacking, commentary, presentation of the menu system, lack of features, stadiums , licences etc.

Without the community, konami would be dead and buried on pes. We don't want that to happen for obvious reasons.

It is a little concerning that the online modes are getting patched in, 11v11 I expect to be a very basic mode, I can't currently trust their online code and hope it is ok.

Regardless of this, it is costing me £20 for the PC version, the amount of hours I will play this, it is a bargain.

It is a great starting block for them and if they can build on this and show commitment to it with patches then, it will be a real success IMO

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

@Bitter Rivals

Yes I also agree with you, I play PES because gameplay is far better, it feels like playing soccer, game play is addictive but game is incomplete as a package.

But yes it seems Konami (not PES team) will always be kind of messy with PES franchise, lets hope for the best, and if EA keeps trying to get exclusive licenses, lets hope Konami at least keeps releasing PES every year with the addictive game play we all PES fans like.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Just got word/mail from dutch online shop Free Record Shop: they put it in the mail today, so it should be arriving tomorrow. Too bad I am at work all day - and after that playing it will depend on how long Ajax will be able to withstand the Barcelona pressure.
Doesn't matter: weekend is imminent.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Man, no piracy talk here. Just buy the game to support Konami.

He could be talking about digital distribution sites - in fact these days, a lot of PC games sales are done via those sites. I've got a sizeable gaming collection and the vast majority of it is formed from games that I've never even seen in their physical form. ;)

That's my dilemma - the game looks amazing, but as a football game package, it isn't fit to lace Fifa's boots. Sorry Konami, but there it is and the worst thing is you could actually do something about it. It's got nothing to do with licences and everything to do with more content. Take ML for example - by all accounts, you've stripped it down to the bare bones this year instead of pushing it in the direction of Fifa's CM. Why? Don't you see that regardless of how good the football itself is, many people might buy Fifa instead simply by virtue of the fact that it has more depth than is required to drown an ant?

Yep, and their response is to deny PC gamers a legitimate way to try the game before buying it. Sensible move, Konami. In a year where PC gamers have been shafted yet again by EA, this was when you should've shown the most support. Instead, we get this.

Of course... I contacted gaming dragons and nothing, only day 19

Who?

I only buy from reputable sites that I've heard of - be careful about buying from any old site. Of course, I might be completely wrong about them, it's just that I've never heard of them.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Where is the piracy talk??? I want original, for online mode... There are places selling the game already!

Yes I understand, sorry for the misunderstanding if you are trying to buy the game, it sounded very suspicious....

Well mate here is the only link for downloading game (Pre-Order)

http://www.gamingdragons.com/en/game/buy-pes-2014-pc-download.html

Personally I will not buy it from there.

Will wait for Steam or Gamesplanet (Metaboli)releases.

No problem... Yeah, i will wait for steam if it hits tomorrow midnight, or then in local shops

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but are there any clear pros and cons to buying on Steam vs. retailer digital DL?

Community patches are easier to install on retailer version, but they can also work with digital version

That's what I thought, thanks. I guess it's "safer" to go with the non-Steam version.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

It's a massive own goal from Konami in the year they are bringing a new engine to PC and EA aren't. They must have some really poor advisers in their organisation.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Surely it's a bigger own goal to not have comment on the availability of digital download one day before release?

There isn't a legitimate way of obtaining a PC version if you live in North America, as far as I can tell.

I'm a prime target, former PES lover that will buy a football game this year. But when FIFA is release I can turn on my PC, throw my money at EA and play it. With Konami, I can't work out what the hell I'm supposed to do.

Konami's US website doesn't even appear to acknowledge the existence of PES in the 'console games' section.

Yep, completely alienating the PC gamers when they should've taken advantage of EA alienating PC users with not providing the next gen title to PC. Konami's thought process at times is ridiculous

Yeah man, its pure incompetence :(

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm in Gabe Newell camp when it comes to this stuff. Piracy is an non-issue imo.

"In general, we think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. For example, if a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate’s service is more valuable. Most DRM solutions diminish the value of the product by either directly restricting a customers use or by creating uncertainty." - Gabe

Make the game readily available for pre-purchase. They probably have a deal with the retailers though that limits digital distribution. Time to go digital man.

Re: PES 2014 discussion thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

year after year the gamer has hope, hope that the game returns on golden years, more realistic, atmospheric,. ecxpectation about the buy of the game, play the game. but year after year konami give us the same thing with variiants. no choice for refrees, choise refrees, badges on crowd, no badges for the crowd, more speed, less speed, more stadiusm, less stadiums, things for the gamer thinks that its different game ....etc
but the true is that konami wants money,
and money is made by many goals, speed turbo, ping pong ball, etc.look the videos on youtube and you see a "football" game with a ping pon pong s ball.
20 stadiums?
i don t care about faces.
the people who likes realism are 2 choice.

iis pro 98, pes 2 its past, a good past, when pes was a indie game, now is industry, mainstream pes...i don t like waht i see in years. that s my truth.
ps:
sorry my english, guys
