Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm from Brazil, 28 years old, almost 20 years playing football games, since the SNES golden years. Super Formation Soccer, Super Soccer Champ, FIFA 94, any shitty game with twelve players and a ball. So, International Superstar Soccer arrive and change the football games market...

Konami football games were divided into Winning Eleven on PSX and ISS on N64. I continued with nintendo and took some time to see what iss had no future. Despite this bad graphics, Winning Eleven offers a better simulation with a magnetic gameplay.

In PS2, i played all games in WE/Pro Evo series until the arrive of new generation. Bought FIFA from 2010 to 2012, and in last year i decided try PES and i played PES 2013 a lot. I was pleasantly surprised with PES 2014, counting the hours to buy it!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I will not go on talking about our ( surprisingly high ) ages but I think there is a connection between the love for the new PES 2014 and this age.
Younger people tend to find licences more important then the older gamers, who think of gameplay in the first place. That is because we used to play on the ISS series with very few ( if any ) licences. I am not saying younger people are not interested in gameplay, certainly not. Maybe I generalize a bit but it is my impression.
PES 2014 seems to be especially great for the older players because the gameplay has improved so much over the previous titles.

This year I am very happy with PES 2014 and if you see that this is done for current gen consoles, I think Konami has done a great job, despite some issues.

I think the best thing to say is those Born from about 1992 to about 1950's 60's something all at one point grew up in an age where licences really didn't matter and it was all about gameplay.

Then you have those who are born 1993-1998 who grew up at that intermittent point where PES was King but where young and didn't see just how good it was.

PES is for all ages but tends to suit those who like a more methodical and tactical approach to their gameplay.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Anyone on PS3 tried editing kits yet? I'd like to know the best size to import .pngs/.jpgs. We can editing multiple areas of the kits now, so i'd like to know the sizes for emblems, the front of the kit, also, shorts, socks, sleeves?, etc.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

To me PES is more of a slower, continental approach to football (generally) over the series. A bit like Serie A games in the 90s that I am sure a lot of the 25+ will remember.

The younger folks are probably more used to the fast paced nature of Football in the last 5-10 years and understandably PES seems clunky and slow to them as that's their perception of football and with none of the main licenses that just tops it off.

The best time in football. Always preferred football played at a slower, more considered pace. Sure, the Premier League is exciting with it's fast-paced, end-to-end style, but the quality football often isn't there for me.

Perhaps modern football is rubbish, not PES? :))

Those PC pictures are just simply wow! Im 36 and have been playing football games since the atari 2600 days, my favourites include Match Day 2, Kick Off 2, Goal!, Emlyn Hughes Soccer and then I found PES. I used to get the jap imports as they were always the more updated version of the game and cant tell you the amount of hours I have played ML over the years. Finally as the Stone Roses sign This IS the ONE!
