Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

today i played some human vs cpu games and they were awesome matches...BUT human vs human was horrible, the defence was a letdown, anyone played against friend and felt the same?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I will not go on talking about our ( surprisingly high ) ages but I think there is a connection between the love for the new PES 2014 and this age.
Younger people tend to find licences more important then the older gamers, who think of gameplay in the first place. That is because we used to play on the ISS series with very few ( if any ) licences. I am not saying younger people are not interested in gameplay, certainly not. Maybe I generalize a bit but it is my impression.
PES 2014 seems to be especially great for the older players because the gameplay has improved so much over the previous titles.
This year I am very happy with PES 2014 and if you see that this is done for current gen consoles, I think Konami has done a great job, despite some issues.

I'm with you 100%...

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I think PES, although it hasn't been at its best the last few years, has always been the more cerebral football game.
That's for sure, just see what strategy's and tactics there are.
I always love to make my own formations/tactics, which just work better than on other football games.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Ok, I was happy being young and all that... but now I'm feeling like a little baby, anyone younger than me here? :OOOH:

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hi guys, sorry for the off thread, but I'm really excited for an (positive) answer for this question.

For those of you who already bought many full downloadable games on PSN, I'm intereted to know if it's possible to share it with someone else once the download is confirmed.

The downloadable version of GTAV is a bit less than half of the price of the disc version, and if I can share it with someone else it will end up bing very cheap; I usually buy the disc version, but the diference of price is very tempting.

Thabks for the answer.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Well I'm 20 but I'm glad that I identify myself with the sentiments of the older fellows regarding gameplay :)

Agree, it's like for old players, i'm included, Konami with PES 2008 to 2013, it was like they put a curse on us with the gameplay, we felt contaminated in the best years for us to enjoy the game, but we tolerated for all this 6 years and has faith, because the game, despite of this big flaws, there always was a little glimpse of the classic gameplay.

Until now that i can really say i feel healed again. And that mates is pure love and passion for this game,

I confess that on 2012 i tried the competition for like 2 months, and i felt like a soulless zombie. :COAT:

Well said Han.

I think Konami should concentrate on quality.
They should invest in the quality of their gameplay and be innovative and spend their time and resources in developing a product for a niche of gamers that ask for that and are ready (and eventually happy) to spend even an higher priced product to have a quality game avoiding any kind of compromise to go satisfy/please and seduce a quote of audience which don't prioritize the gameplay.
I'm sure they'll find people happy to spend more.

This for the future, for now we have this great game (I hope).

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Ok, then no placebo at all...

Lami have you had some insight hint about it?

Yes I did find the US demo to be the worse of the 3.

I'll be honest and say I never thought many on here were in their 30s+. I'm quite surprised to say the least.

I'm 13. Been playing games since pong in 1983-4. I think I played almost every football game out there. Most played was Goal! on the famicom and Captain Tsubasa, a JRPG Football of sorts. Then came along ISS on SNES, and since then I never looked back.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I didn't reach 20 yet, my first football game was ISS 98 and since then i think i didn't miss any PES game. I spent hours and hours making tournaments with my friends and creating teams in the game editor with ourselves (and the fat guy was always with max weight and of course he was the goalkeeper), and trying to create my country's league with similar logos and kits (with those patterns and so many options).
The last Pes games, for me, they weren't very good and that football feeling and pleasure to edit disappeared a bit.
I just hope 14 can give back that feeling.

It's reassuring to see younger PES lovers think the magic is gone recently, because when you get older you should ask yourself if it's you or the game to be wrong (this has been for me sometimes).

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I am 51 and I am addicted to Pes.

My 11 year old son loves to play as fixed player in the same team which I play and I think he is the only one in his school who plays Pes all his mates play Fifa.

I am proud father as my son truly prefers Pes over Fifa. :))

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm 22 right now, but I played ISS/PES since I was 7. Do you remember this GAME?

TN_Iss_Pro_pal-front.JPG

It was unreal for its time. I remember USA (lol) was my favourite team there.

Since then my father (51) and me were playing this franchise (except PS2 PES 1), from the excellent PES 3 to the piece of crap PES 2009, although my dad seems stuck with PES 2010, he loves that game.

Of course.. ball felt like a brick.. But you could do scissors by double tap forward :P

I still have that game, among others

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

30 years old next month and started to get addicted with ISS Deluxe for the SNES. Now cant wait for 2014 to be released!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

okaaay...i come here, read the last 3-4 pages, laugh about it, say that i am 23 and leave xD

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Love the dribbling this year. The default is the old R2 dribbling. Just using the left stick to turn on or dodge defenders with help from taps of the R1 button to escape seems to work for me a lot. Sometimes it doesn't and I have to either pass or turnover the ball, just like real football.

L1 is excellent when dribbling at pace, a quick tap and a directional change on the pad lets you cut inside beautifully.

They have also nailed the skill of timing the tap of the sprint button, very true to life timing wise. You either just nick it past the player with a tap and L1 or show too much of the ball and concede having it nicked off your feet.

R2 and X together definitely sends a run from the passer, and R2 and Square sends a lovely high lofted pass.

Oh my God Lami, you're very young :)

And the retail? Is that as good as the Asian version or we need to buy the game from Japan??

So it's possible to share it with a friend ?

The downloadable version of GTAV is 65 reais, wich is around 28 dollars, while the disc version is 175 reais (around 76 dollars), huge difference.

My PS3 hdd doesn't have much space tho, I will have to delete some stuff and it will be fine for GTAV and PES 2014.

Together with holding R1 and letting it go to slow down just like in the training exercise. Tapping or holding it can help combined with releasing it.

13 or 31 ? :P

I'm really surprised for that. You seem to be very mature for your age.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Everybody paying attention to solely that 13/31 error

:LMAO:

Jimmy, have you mastered R2 and X? I am still having big problems with the timings of it, it's doing my head in. Honestly, it's the one difference in the game to previous PES versions I'm still having absolute nightmares with.

I've been doing the classic 1-2 but the player runs off at a million miles an hour for about 40 yards if you use that.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

25, and have been playing since Winning Eleven on the PSX. Yep, the very first Konami football game on PSX was Winning Eleven and was only in Japanese!!! (I grew up in Asia).

I also remember when the early ISS was created by Konami Osaka and was pretty shite (especially on N64), until Konami Tokyo took over and merged it with Winning Eleven.

I think the highlight of my PES/WE career was definitely WE6 (ever since Rh4ps0dy released the first ever kit patch for the PS2), followed by WE6FE which was by far the best game of the whole series in terms of addiction and customisability.
