Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Lovin the demo on PS3, but...i get into good wide positions and whip in some wicked driven crosses, there i am, in my armchair, tightening the muscles in my neck, in my mind ive picked my spot and waiting for net bulge...but.... my striker shies away from the ball or it bounces off him!!! WTF!!!..

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

check out this site : http://ultimateconsoledatabase.com/

I've played on pretty much all of these consoles at some point in time.
There was an audiosonic console system, very underrated as the Atari was a big thing in those days. They have a very nice football game there with 10 actual player in the field, controlled by pressing 1 of 10 buttons. So a button for each player. Very hard in the beginning, always choosing the wrong button. But, once you got the hang of it it played quite nicely. It even allowed you to pull of 1-2's. All vertical 2d, but still nice for those days.

Back on topic : i like the demo but i have a very very hard time dribbling.
I don't know what to do sometimes and when defenders close up on my i panic and start twisting the right stick everywhere until i lose the ball.

I guess i will have to spend a lot of time in training mode.

Love the dribbling this year. The default is the old R2 dribbling. Just using the left stick to turn on or dodge defenders with help from taps of the R1 button to escape seems to work for me a lot. Sometimes it doesn't and I have to either pass or turnover the ball, just like real football.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

And here is was thinking that i was by far the oldest member of this site...
I'm 51 years old and i remmeber playing Subbuteo and after that nothing until my brother in law introduced met to the Playstation and EA's game around EURO 2000.

I bought FIFA for PS1 and the year after i bought a PS2 and PES1.
I have two football mad kids: a 10 year old boy (who is a very, very good football player...astonishly good even) ad a 13 year old girl who is totally football mad.

I play both FIFA and PES with them (to me PES 2012 and 2013 were totally unplayabel, so we played FIFA) and that is big, big fun. My son loves that PES2014 and i'm looking forward to play that game with my kids.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

:D

I am 34, my first soccergame was also Soccer on the Atari.

And indeed, I am nowhere that mature or feeling like an adult then my dad was at this age. I dont want to grow up! :-)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

It's quite heart-warming to read about the older guys still playing PES. I hope I'm still gaming in another 10, 20 or 30 years time. I couldn't imagine life without gaming - it's what I've grown up with.

I have very few people I can talk to about gaming and share experiences with in my every day life. Hardly anyone who plays PES. I love coming to Evo-Web as it's like chatting with friends about the games we love. Nice to see so many long-running members still posting here too.

Also, fair play to the younger lads in their teens and early 20's who are playing PES. Some of you may not remember the glory days of PES, or ISS before that back on the SNES, PS1 and N64.

It's probably easier to play FIFA these days given how popular it is. PES seems to appeal to an older, more puristic demographic.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

This is like PES Anonymous in here today - I love it.

I'm 40 and have been playing PES from the ISS days on PS1. In fact that game was the first thing my now-wife ever bought me. I still play England Vs USA as my first game in every new PES as that's the fixture she selected back in '97. And they say romance is dead!

Anyone remember Mexico '86 (or Kick and Run as it was also called) down the arcade? That and Emelyn Hughes International Soccer on the C64 was where it all began for me.

PES Annonymos is a fucking amazing name for a thread!

Don't read them then. I'm sure Evo-Web doesn't require it's own 'How old are you Thread' ??!!

Unless you just won't to keep reading. Lag, Frame-Rate, Through-Balls, Broken Manual, Delay, of the other stuff like... 'What does Zaha's face look like?' Or 'stats for Ronaldo please'....!!!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hi.

I'm Klashman

I'm in my Early 20's

I've been playing PES since ISS Pro on the PS1, along with FIFA which I stopped playing a few years back.

I have no kids, no wife a rather broken life here in London, for another 2 weeks or so before I move across the world.

I used to be a gamer, but I've given up on all games and just play PES, or maybe Football Manager if I'm arsed or any other football game worth playing.

I can see myself playing this game for another 10/20/30 years, it's a great avenue for me to improve my graphic and model making skills and show creativity.

This should be the PES anonymous Template :)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I will not go on talking about our ( surprisingly high ) ages but I think there is a connection between the love for the new PES 2014 and this age.
Younger people tend to find licences more important then the older gamers, who think of gameplay in the first place. That is because we used to play on the ISS series with very few ( if any ) licences. I am not saying younger people are not interested in gameplay, certainly not. Maybe I generalize a bit but it is my impression.
PES 2014 seems to be especially great for the older players because the gameplay has improved so much over the previous titles.
This year I am very happy with PES 2014 and if you see that this is done for current gen consoles, I think Konami has done a great job, despite some issues.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I didn't reach 20 yet, my first football game was ISS 98 and since then i think i didn't miss any PES game. I spent hours and hours making tournaments with my friends and creating teams in the game editor with ourselves (and the fat guy was always with max weight and of course he was the goalkeeper), and trying to create my country's league with similar logos and kits (with those patterns and so many options).
The last Pes games, for me, they weren't very good and that football feeling and pleasure to edit disappeared a bit.
I just hope 14 can give back that feeling.

I think PES, although it hasn't been at its best the last few years, has always been the more cerebral football game.
