Unless you're playing on a monitor then that doesn't matter - current HDTVs only go up to 1080p anyway ways, so all that extra resolution wouldn't be used anyways.

really disappointed with faces...i know we are getting dlc but the 200 faces those are coming with the game, all are not good or perfect..i think only 60-70 faces are perfect..and am worried about the dlc....i pretty sure that 60% of dlc faces will be "Torres" quality.

Glad to see the acknowledgement of the good work done in previous versions. But most people would have you believe that this game magically popped out of a hat and that there was nothing whatsoever good about PES 2009-2013.

They had plenty of faults, but they did a lot of things right that have helped 2014. Apparently they are the worst games ever made though with no positives at all.

Contextual dribbling, refined first touch, teammate ai, free passing mixed with stat application, defensive hold up play which appeared before fifa, individuality, movement physics, tactical depth, all developed in PES 2009-2013 and well into 2014 with the new engine. It's like a headstart on an old limited engine, then when you get to the new one you've already got the foundations in place.

It's nothing new btw. This has been the case since the PS2, maybe PS1 even. I remember picking a specific stadium for my home ground in ML that wouldn't have any slowdown. I remember for instance playing at Anfield was always slow as compared to my ground. Some stadiums require more processing than others it seems. More detail etc. And I'm with you they should keep the consistency. At least we have speed option though so we can simply change it for these slower/quicker stadiums.

I don't know where that came from. It looks the same to me. I'm used to console gaming so it doesn't look any different. Maybe PC users noticing that? They have hawk eyes these guys!

Have you tried lowering the defensive line and the att/def level? This was a major problem for 2013 which led to the high lines and through ball problem, seems ok at the moment though especially if you adjust the sliders?

I now played the uk and japan demo and so far I haven't really been impressed with how the game plays. It just seems like it's pes 2013 with new animations and some tweaks to physics. The moment when my players are literally stumbling after a weak tackle when facing the goal, kills the experience. I don't think I'll buy the full game. It seems to me that konami really want to make a full and enjoyable game but fails due to being handed a low budget. Fifa on the other hand just rules the market but spend their budget on licenses and new technology to recreate faces.

I honestly don't think there is much future in football games. I really hope 2k joins the race and shows how to make a proper sports game.

- How do you cancel off the ball player movement?
The one that when you make a pass, you can take control of the next player to receive the ball.
Is not the way that always used to be anymore? They change the controls?

- By other side, keeper still going out by pressing triangle? i feel that is not working or this year they goes out the box very very slow.

I never played the next gen version of 2008 apart from a few quick goes on the pc demo which I didn't play enough to fully judge.

I remember it felt weird, I didn't seem to like it and I liked it at the same time, so I'm not definitive on it :)

Most people see PES 6 as being part of the good PS2 period.

To echo your thoughts, my brother brought the PS3 around and I managed to do some testing on the retail copy.

Advanced shooting is seriously terribly programmed. We were laughing in mild disbelief as I was trying it.
There is no shot error to speak of programmed into the shots when using Advanced shooting. You use 100% shot power and the ball will hit the bar 6 out of 10 times. Closer to goal it will almost always go in or be a dangerous shot since the ball doesn't have time to rise up to the bar due to the proximity to the goal.

Adding to this the manual control shots being completely useless, being hit over the goal no matter how lightly you tap the shot button (meanwhile working perfectly as soon as you switch to Basic shooting), these bugs are seriously hindering the enjoyment the game gives me.

Still holding out hope on the day 1 patch but even if they fix it, along with other niggles, how much will we enjoy the game if I bring a 360 copy to a friend with no Internet connection and time to patch the game.

These aspects are obviously unfinished which gives a generally rushed feeling to the product as a whole.
