looks horrible if you ever played this on pc... it is shocking how bad the crowd looks.... the animations are awesome, but graphics..

Try knocking the ball with double tapping R1 instead of just pressing it, controlled sprinting slows you down.

Hi guys,
I hope some of you can take the time to try something out. Ive noticed that when my player is without the ball, chasing the ball down vs a defender, the r1 is so sluggish, and my player just gets outpaced ala catch up bug / defender assist bug.
HOWEVER... im not sure if im seeing things or its an illusion or what not. But it seems when I quickly keep tapping the R1 button (rather than just holding it down) my player runs much quicker... can someone else try this... I swear it speeds up the player...

It's pretty good. Tactical, slow build-up. I'm hoping that online play is good this year.
I bet this game still doesn't sell that well in the West. Sadly, I think a lot of people like their football games to play like how Sky TV thinks football is played - at an unbelievable fast-pace for a solid 90 minutes.

No. Everything was unlocked in the version I played. Gameplay wise though I think it's pretty close. It won't be any different apart from fine refinements here and there though.
Wish there was speed option on this so I can up it to +1 at least.

I've been testing this as well in training mode in the dribbling part. I ignore the mode and just go running from halfway to the edge of the box testing the button and using the countdown clock as well

Maybe so compared to the PC. Never played it on a PC so ignorance is bliss I guess

Do you think Superstar and some of the responsiveness in day games will be sorted?
No. Everything was unlocked in the version I played. Gameplay wise though I think it's pretty close. It won't be any different apart from fine refinements here and there though.

Maybe some people think football matches are only the EPL highlights shown on TV.
Anyway, enjoy this game. This year the stars must have aligned themselves, because it's a effin' miracle both games are enjoyable to play. Given the behaviour of both companies during the last 4 years, there's a chance both FIFA and PES will be arcadey next year... again.

I think so. PEs 2014 is definitely not a sprint fest. It's about moving the ball around with long and short passes finding valuable space and exploiting it. There's plenty of pace available with pacey players though. Tapping R1 to find space and get away from pressure is in straight lines and 45 degree angles is lovely. Also, holding down R1+R2 allows for controlled rushing with the ball. Love the system this year.

I understand that when I have the ball that double tapping r1 makes you run faster tapping the ball ahead of your further than the single tap and hold...
what im talking about is when you are running without the ball... ie.. trying to catch up to a through ball or a bad pass... and the defender is next to you ... normally outrunning you.. even if your Ronaldo lets say... just seems so sluggish..

Not been through all the pages so forgive me if asked - anyone else noticing frame-rate issues in non-gameplay situations ie. pre-match build-up, bookings? Just want to make sure my PS3 isn't dying.

Anyone else finding they have very high possesion each game? its always around 70% to me even on top player. Im a decent player, not the greatest player in the world, i play possesion football but it seems a little too easy to pass around and dominate. Pass assistance on 1bar, advanced shooting on. iv not lost yet, games are close score wise, (2-1, 1-0, 2-0 etc highest being 4-0) but the game is being dominated by me too much for my liking. Going to try superstar difficulty now

I've always had around 60-70% possession on PES2013 but finding that I get less than 50% most of the time on this demo. That is on Top Player. I would probably get much more in a longer match though as the 5 minute match doesn't suit my build up play style...

Hmm...thanks for the reply mate. She said that she checked there after I'd initially asked her to do the search. Wonder if it populates by region within the UK? Doubt it but that's the only explanation.
I guess I'll have to do it when I get home from work which means not playing it 'til about midnight!
EDIT - just remembered you can do this remotely so I've added the game to my download list but it looks like wifey has switched off the ps3 before she's gone out for the afternoon !!

This! Hope on the retail version cinematics and replay can be more fluids.
It's awful that i can't appreciate plays and goals with the same fps than main gameplay.
