Correct and it's still possible to get 48 hour trials.

Although just read 30-day trial gold membership..

A total of three 30-day trial accounts are available per console, and this limitation cannot be reset. After a user has created three trial accounts, the user no longer receives a message that provides the opportunity to create a 30-day Gold trial account.

Finally got it to download for free.

Damn that took me a while. Had to create a new US account then refuse to upgrade to Gold then get offered a 30 day trial.

At least it's downloading now!

So you did not need to buy a gold membership for some days?
How did you manage american addresses? I think Microsoft asked for Name, address and city where you live?

I was offered the same 30 days free but then got an error

you didnt need to introduce credit card details?

xbox was supposed to be the last to have it but we are first,even before Fifa demo
this will be my first contact with the new PES,excited

No. Just create a new profile on your 360, then sign up for xbox live and make sure your locale is USA. Just follow instructions they're easy. Then it'll recommend to join Gold so you click continue then again continue I guess then it'll show you 3 different packages to which you choose no thanks, then it'll offer you a 30 day trial, which you obviously go for ;)

Choose paypal or credit card and that should work.

Make sure after you're done you do this to turn off live auto-renewal:

Then you're set :)
