Guys its not fox engine limitations its the consoles and seriously you dont see rain on TV so its not that big a deal

I wonder if its due to the effect of the rain. on the Fox engine videos they explained how changing the environment like the time of day or weather affects the reflectance off objects, shadows and cloth physics. A simple thing like rain could have repercussions beyond simply drops appearing.

MGS V was made for several years. Realize that already. Engine was also MADE FROM SCRATCH for this game in mind in the first place.

Don't expect from PES to have same craftsmanship as MGS. Just f**king don't.

As to rain, yes, we cannot see it in TV broadcast, but it definitely MAKES the pitch/ball and physics behave differently.

Only having night/day matches and in sunny weather is not something I crave for as football fan. Sorry, but some countries do play their games in Winter or in heavy downpours...

FIFA might be bad game, but it offers variety of pitch conditions/rain/snow (orange ball too for playing in such conditions :D).

Och well, next year we might get full package... Oh wait?

Well glad it's out of the way now.

It's not about lies like some of you are implying/saying. No need to be drama queens about it. I assure you there's a very good reason behind it. Just trust me on this.

And Hosoda is being really honest here guys.

They want it in as they want everything football related in, and they are more than capable, but there are technicak reasons stopping them.

pes 2014 has also been in development for 3+ years

pes 2014 has also been (according to konami) made from scratch

Technical reasons because Konami are encountering limitations of the new engine on current consoles, or technical reasons because the project hasn't been managed with priorities in mind? Could be a bit of both, but my money is on the latter.

Rain should be a basic component of any football game. Dropping it is unacceptable in my opinion.
 
PES Team says a lot of things, but they are no Kojima ;).

Check what they promised and what they delivered, pushing back announcements, delaying information and adding stuff to "developed" game? Are we serious here?

And we are still stuck with 2 time modes? Couldn't they steal EA idea?

I just wanted not rain, but rain condition on pitch/snowy pitch.

Also, sad news is MGS V won't be coming to PC anytime soon...

As much fun I'm having reading through pages and pages of comments on the lack of precipitation, Lami can you please give us your thoughts on the game you played. You obviously seem to like it so I'm looking forward to hearing about what you've seen :))

The no-raingate isn't a game-killer but just like referee mistakes, players screwing up, etc. it does add to the realism. I don't think too many of us play on a camera view where this new cloth technology would be noticed other than in the cut-scenes (and the same for those complaining about the faces) but weather change is a real part of football. Although part of missing it is the nostalgia of the old PES/WE titles where we played in rain and snow, it seems an odd thing for Konami to do. Even a very simple representation would have been ok - it didn't have to be so realistic you sat under an umbrella or put on your snow boots while playing!
 
Im disappointed about the rain but absolutely freaking out about the lack of news of ML and edit mode. Makes you wonder what other bad news Bhatti is sitting on.

Masuda himself told us edit mode would be the bisons bollocks this year but there's been nothing else said for months!!

Please Lami, post some good news soon!
