I'm thinking of that too, based on their explanation of belated Demo 2 release last year. But maybe there's another reason this time around.
 
I thought the trailer was very good, very disappointed about the demo date there was no need to lie to everyone like that and say definitely August, they could of just told us the demo date a long time ago and we would of accepted it (well sort of). Guess Saints Row IV and Plants vs Zombies2 will have to keep us occupied awhile longer.

what other reason? maybe they don't want us to look inside the EXE and see that they are using some old mechanic in this year game?
 
KONAMI is very serious to declare war with EA this year. Including how EA has been rid of PC gamers to Ignite, I hope KONAMI did not follow this stupid thing.
 
Disappointed about the demo date and all that involves (the crap PR, having to spend more time with my family etc) but it does suggest one of two things:

The initial demo code was so bad.
The changes they've made since the initial demo code are so good.

I'm going with somewhere in between the two.

As for that latest vid, meh, looks like another year of putting up with broken Engrish with tacky, nonsensical banners and now also newspaper headlines.
 
Mehhh they just don't want people to get too much time with the game before buying it because they will start to spot the similarities to PES 2013 as Asim did.Pretty smart move from Konami if you think about it :SMUG:.
 
then it is absurd how can I buy it if I do not at least try the demo, I talk about me playing almost every game to the PC, I really hope that there is a turning point if I do not understand why someone should buy something without trying it on. and then pes pc is the soul of the game are really so many that we play dick, we are a great community. possible that they are afraid to patch for the demo?

they would have said clearly no demo since July or at least no information. it's better than promise things several times for nothing ...
 
Having a demo before buying the game is good enough. It doesn't have to be ages before it. At least we do have a demo to try. One that represents the retail version. Good move.

Indeed, in our current gaming world, having a perfect marketing and PR strategy are keys to sell your game very well.Konami keep making these rookie mistakes one after one.

so no 3rd kits for all teams and no 3rd kits from the beguining :(

The game has new animations.. running, dribbling, physical play.. more pronounced inertia.. so how come ?

Sure, there must be several game assets brought in from PES 2013... nothing wrong with that..

Why are you guys so hung up on the demo being delayed?? I'd rather they have a good demo out (and subsequent a good game) than one that is broken where people get all crazy, and a demo 2 which corrects the failures and removes the goods of demo 1. Some people here are just so dramatic (me included..hehe)

Remember the days when we didn't have demos at all? Didn't kill us then, did it? And just be happy that there IS a PC version that is similar to the consoles (unlike FIFA). It's not like 10 days makes that much of a difference. Plus, maybe Konami did encounter problems with the demos. It's not like they planned to have the demo out in September and lie about July or August...I'm certain there were some problem and they wanted to fix it

Ok, now when we are ready: Why is late demo a problem? It is not meant to "be played over and over and over again". Demo is short for "demonstration", it is meant to show you what to expect from full game and, in case of PC, to test if you can run the game. And I think that 10 days between demo and full game are more than enough to test both things.

I fully agree.
From my point of yiew I want a demo that represents the final game and not some kind of 75% beta status. The idea of having 2 demos last year was hell of a mess. I also have no problems in waiting.
A week will be enough to decide if i am going to buy this or if GTA V and Diablo 3 will be the only purchases in this years September... ;)
 
We are hung up about delayed demo because it looks so good and we want to play it. It's a good sign if anything.

i agree . i have tried pes 2014 at Konami france .
Animations and collision have totally changed , feel like new game (ball separed from the player).
the only thing that remind me pes 2013 a bit , is graphics from gameplay camera .

Haha, you are correct. I'm on PC but i understand you don't simply mess with PC master race.

Those screenshot and latest video show much the game has improved graphically since E3. I still remember the lighting look off (Bayern Munich UCL press shot) and also every player looks like Spongebob from wide gameplay cam (must be related to LoD issue).

Finally, told we couldn't do PC demo because last year it was hacked, and licenses were revealed that had to be kept secret. Sorry everyone.
