I'm not a fan of some of the changes to the tactics menu in PES over recent years.

Wing-back is a position that should still be available as it's a common feature of the 3-5-2. It's then down to the user to select the correct player for that role, or decide not to play WB's at all if the squad doesn't contain suitable players.

Other things like the covering option and attack/defence arrows for individual players.....sadly missed.

I like how the current tactics menu features sliders to adjust the style and shape of the team as a whole, but I would like to see more options for individual player commands as above.
 
Loved the first ign video, can't wait to hear some ML news.

One thing I am wondering about is fouls. I didn't see much contact in the video and am hoping that the fouls are realistic this year. Perhaps fouls were turned off, but I have barely seen any in the videos released so far.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to set time of the match,the weather conditions(like rain/snow/wind intensity,overcast,clear,partly cloudy),the season(month and day of the year)...

I hope we will get this version of game, not the one from "officialpes" channel ;)

It was interesting, and it could be improved so you can fully automatize all your decisions (even substitutions) depending of the situation.
 
i've just watched yesterday's IGN gameplay video and i'm really impressed
just worried about 3 things

1-player awareness issue , ball passes very close to players and they are just watching it

2-some passing animations are really bad , they remind me of pes 2013 , the pass trajectory is not related to the leg movement , may be konami removed the new passing animations and returned to the old 2013 passing animation to improve the response time and button lag which seems to be completely resolved in that video in contrary to the E3 video

3-i noticed some sliding when there's some physical contact between players , i hope konami didn't overcome the common clipping issue of old pes iterations by sliding which is as bad as clipping , i made this gif "at 82.00 min of match time"

Yeah, it looked pretty awesome, but I'm still worried regarding CPU-AI, tactical variety out of the box, realtime stamina/fatigue-system, playerswitching and cheating-potential, in short all the things that happen under the hood.

These two were my favourite tactical options during the PS2 games.

The covering card has been introduced since then and to be fair it does work but I don't want Konami dictating to me who I can and can't make sit.

I'd love to hear their reasoning for removing the individual arrows.

You are right. There are some strange moments, there might be some problems that you wright about, regarding AI, player awareness, AI cheating and stuff. I agree especially with Xavi2009 on this:
"In close control, when a defender was too close to the attacker, the ball seemed to suffer a sudden clipping effect. It isn't exactly glued to the attacker, it just seems like it wasn't the defender's time to take the ball. Sometimes he literally walked over the ball."

But at least they have a base to build really good game (if it's not this crap from officialpes"). Maybe PES2015 will be great :D hahaha.

Yes, that's my issue with too.

I'm not a fan of the player cards although I admit they are just an extension of the old special ability stars. I also dislike the overall player stat and how it changes depending on position.

In all honesty I much prefer the old tactics menus and spending time poring over player stats to make sure I'm using my players where they will be most effective.

Add to that the awesome individual arrows and the newer generation's team sliders and you've got the best tactics setup ever made in a footie game.
