I feel this game is like no other football game released. Not even the PS2 days were as good as this plays. And i have played more Fifa since 08 but still buying both games every year. This game just feels like anything can happen and even though i'm sure it will have it's problems i love the way it plays. Nothing has been this good imo. As for Asim, maybe he has become used to playing the old way, this for me is new and the AI push you hard.

Fifa 2010 and fifa wc i tried unkonami-ing myself i shelved pes and for close to 2 weeks put in hours and hours hoping it would click. I even remeber Jimmy sending me hate messages via PSN when he saw what i was playing.

I just couldnt get into it. No individualism, no depth in tactics a clunky as fuck menu system and appalling player models just couldnt get by me. It felt so soulless. Since then i have not looked back barr the ocassional demo orfew games at a mates. I rock at it as well lol but no thanks not for me

So the ML is still shocking? No surprise there. CM in Fifa is also an embarrasment with all the bugs and it just all feels boring.

I'm amazed anyone buys a game like PES or FIFA for either of these modes these days? To me it's more about human to human matches online etc. If you wanna manage your favourite team in a realistic way that's what Football Manager is for ;)

That was 2-Player footage, the CPU is harder to fool. And the Sombrero is Player Specific, certain players could attempt it, but only those with the Card had decent consistency.

Yes, I know, but anyway it should be very rare to see. Even if you take a skilled player who has the card it should work very rarely and in the case you succeed, it would be great if it created some kind of aggressive reaction by defenders ending in harsh fouls and cards.

And anyway, the previous video in the thread was worse and is the one that actually made me post, sorrt. In the other video you could see players doing sombreros with an unbouncing ball and in movement, just by pressing a combo of buttons. I didn't like that at all. A sombrero is make using the bounce of the ball. Walking with the ball and then doing a flick up of the ball is something you simply don't see in a match.

I noticed there's a huge difference in Asim between pre-E3 and post-E3. I don't know what actually happened to him to radically change his mind about the game.

He explained on twitter he expected so much more from the Fox Engine in Pes. Maybe he set his expectations way too high

He said: "Fans deserve better"

I swear you are paid by EA. I just know that all my time here you hve never praised PES the last paragraph sums up how deluded you are.

Asims moved camp simple as

Sorry to butt in , but Hitman hasn't praised PES much on here because its been largely shit during that time. People have the right not to like the series, and besides Hitman stated he's edging back to PES having loved the PS2-era versions of the game. Where's the bias in that?

I for one am sharing Hitman's concerns about PES until I get to play it. What I'm extremely concerned about is a goal Asim concedes in his demo video on YouTube, it's right out of PES 2013 territory where lack of responsiveness in vital moments and stupid goalkeeping contrive to lay an open goal on a plate for the COM. The goal where the keeper and defender pretty much just leave the ball despite him rattling the clear button.

But the idea that someone 'moves camp' is a bit extreme, people have the right to change opinions and Asim seems to have done that. Maybe he genuinely prefers FIFA this year, it's his right to do so.

Finally next week everyone will play a more advanced version. No more impressions from other videos or such.
No more gameplay videos analysis

Top, top envelope.

Triffic.

It's all rosy in the garden......candles melting in the bedroom , dying for a play. :))

Points and prizes for the answers.

The new screenshots of the Benfica stadium and Manchester United entering Old Trafford from the corner and wearing techfit shirts are mightily impressive as well.

I didn't like that either, it looked unnatural. Unless the ball is rolling on the ground or is bouncing, this sombrero flick should end up in utter fail.

Those screens are Pes 2014 on Medium settings,on Pc it will look stunning at 1920 x 1080 resolution and maximum details

Cool! :TU:

OK done. D2 sticks to just the league you start with, doesn't stay with you. Don't thank me, thank the PES Production team. Defo sleep now!

EDIT: Ups sorry! Already Posted :((

And this means... No promotion/relegation if you move to another league.
For this year it can be acceptable (it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than having e.g. Zaragoza being promoted to Serie A at least) but it just doesn't work like that.
I really would like them to add a (even fake) 2nd tier to every league they put in the game, ML would hugely benefit from that to an extent that isn't even imaginable.

Konami should leave the option to the player: playing with division two or not.
One of the things i have learned to appreciate in FIFA are the lower leagues, playing a carreer with Doncaster Rovers is a memorable experience. But for me this only works with real division 2 teams.

I think he has.

PS3 and 360 are ageing consoles, based on architecture from around 2005. There is only so much that can be achieved on these platforms and I think developers have exploited every drop of performance and kept these systems punching above their weight for a few years now.

Could Konami have got more out of the Fox engine? Possibly, but the signs are that it's pushing the 360/PS3 to the limit. No rain is a good indicator.

I'm not sure what Asim was expecting. Most of what I've seen looks very good indeed.

I think Asim just wants a different game. I supported his initial criticism but in retrospect I think Adam was right, when you start blaming response times etc. its very easy to end up back with snappy instant turns again.

The game should be frustrating initially. Most PES games were. Once you understand the weight the sense of momentum, then you can competently predict your button inputs. This is 2013, we don't want Sensible Soccer.

I may be well off the mark here as I ain't played the demo so don't know how bad the input lag is. But I hope the final code doesn't go too far the other way.

i personally hated that sombrero flik video, too easy, might turn the game into a cheap flik fest.

ONE THING i greatly miss from the ps2 time is the ability to set crowd level. Back in the day i would choose 2 starts for home and away crowd, stadium would look crowded but not overcrowded like in those picture, the result of that overcrowd is that the stadium texture and feeling loose a lot visually as it all looks very artificial.

good news about d2 sticking to chosen league.

Agreed. With a bouncing ball it's fine, but with a rolling ball it looks completely un-natural.

Really? Watched again under 2 mins doesnt like the menu says its from the 90s nor the pass assist settings prefers fifas.
I started watching from around the middle of the video and watched for 3-4 minutes. He had nothing but good things to say during that whole time, even mentioned how issues from the E3 build had been fixed in this version (corners specifically).
