PES 2013 Video Thread

Just played a game with my beloved United, having the cursor fixed on Wayne Rooney (a la BaL mode). Had a cracking match, for the first goal I made a neat assist after I was fouled in the centre, actually that was the first time the quick play free kick was useful to me... :D (Stats from the game are in the last seconds of the clip)

Soon the full game will be released, so I thought I'd look back at my time with the original demo and cap it off with a video of my favourite 10 goals.

3. Benzema - Very patient build up, particularly enjoyed Martin waiting for Debuchy to make a run inside and the lovely little finish from Benzema.

2. Erviti - Nothing much to be said about this video, except that I had to quickly change from Silva to Erviti and then react quickly with a thumping volley. Keeper no chance.

1. Lucho - Difficult to pick my favourite goal, but I chose this one because I felt each pass was weighted perfectly, each movement couldn't have been done any other way, if I'd delayed even slightly on the shot for example I'd have been tackled. The little pass with the outside of the boot by Fernando, the neat turn and pass by Lucho, the drive into the box from Varela making a little bit of space for Lucho who still had the composure to curl it into the top corner under immense pressure. - And all on manual.

Probably could have selected them in a different order on another day, but these are my favourite 10.

The defensive AI and pressing on this is horrible. Again.
 
I love how the defender pushes the goalie into the goal afterwards :D Stuff like that never annoys me, I just find it funny.

Ha, can honestly say I didn't even notice that till you mentioned it, it'll probably annoy me now :P

I've not adjusted the game speed at all on this PES, so still 0. Not sure whether It's because I've adjusted, but I've always found the speed perfect. Slow enough to play patient football, but fast enough for realistic speedy counter attacks.



Speaking of Galatasaray, they handed me my first defeat in my Champions League game and at Old Trafford :(. Had a few poor games where I just couldn't finish to save my life despite the good possession the team had, 3 games without scoring, but 2 draws and a loss was enough to qualify in 2nd place.

The last game was irrelevant as we'd qualified and had no chance of catching Galatasaray after our poor results vs. them, so players were rested. Despite some early scares, we continued to play our possession football and scored just before half time with a header from Chicharito. In the 2nd half, the out of form van Persie was brought on to see if he could capitalise on our dominance and he did just that with an immense half volley after a little chip to him from Büttner.

Next round: Milan
Regretting that Galatasaray loss now.

Wilko, those highlight vids are excellent, keep 'em coming!

Also, what a cross for Hernandez's header - is that manual crossing? If so, any special technique to it?
 
Bloody Game!

First Knockout Round vs Milan in the Champions League, both games were a dire affair with very few highlights and I got my tactics terribly wrong because I was far too susceptible to the through ball. I brought Scholes on in the 2nd half of the 2nd leg and that caused all sorts of problems as he kept dropping into my back line. Any error I made defensively was punished and I made a few. Was definitely lucky to progress after Rooney won a penalty in the 2nd leg to send us through on away goals.

Quarter Finals vs City, first leg I dominated possession, couldn't score, finished 0-0, highlight of the game was a Nani volley from a RVP corner.

Second leg, I dominated possession, but City went 3-1 up, their 2nd goal I gave Balotelli too much space because I couldn't switch to Rio to close him down, their 3rd goal came from a cross which I might of been able to prevent if the game wasn't fighting to stay on the rails (was using super-cancel, but it kept randomly locking back on).

Anyway having nearly gone 4-1 down, things started to click and I was playing some unstoppable football, Welbeck scored after feigning to shoot and then hitting it across goal, great effort. Continued to play fantastically and felt certain to equalise, up till the last ten minutes of the game, when suddenly every pass was being intercepted and nothing working. Finished 3-2 and I'm out of the Champions League after a frustrating, but very fun game.

Not this time, I don't think it's possible to get that kind of whip on the ball with manual, though I might be wrong. I generally use manual crossing for shorter crosses.
 
Wilko, nice Welbeck goal. I've noticed there's always very few fouls in your end of game stats. Would you say that's a game design problem?
