PES 2012 PC Demo talk

Different teams have different play styles, you can not just expect all the AI team behave the same way

I don't like the overall pace of the game, it's too frantic for the entire match lenght.
Ball travels slower then PES 2011, but player movement(dribbling, turning etc) is too fast/warped.
Certainly need to play it more and get comfortable with demo, but right now i'm not wowed at all...

can someone post a picture of neymar face? (front, side and back please)

i can't play the demo because apparently my computer is too weak --' i have to wait until the game comes out :(

I also love how if you knock the right stick in a throw in, you controll the person without the ball. Knock it again, you controll the guy with the ball, something so small yet so awesome.

Just had to test one last time, and it seems the striker pressure "bug" (feature? lol..) is not even limited to the CPU team.. Playing as Man Utd against Napoli and constantly when they are counter attacking I see an AI controlled Rooney chasing their players all the way to the goal line and Rooney is usually the lowest player on my team because of this, and of course greatly hinders any counter attacks when I only have slow Berbatov up front.. Jesus Christ, I really do hope this gets noticed and fixed or something, absolutely ruining the game for me.

Hey everyone,

I'm having the same problem as some others with the blurry graphics. My PC is pretty decent and PES 2011 works with no problems. I tried lowering the quality to 'medium' but it makes it even more blurry. Also tried to lower the resolution from my usual 1650x1080 and checking/unchecking those 'frame skipping', 'v sync' bars. No difference to the level of blurriness.

If anyone has had the same problem and fixed it, please share some info! Thanks

Love how it feels so much like your team defends as a unit. Also, there is absolutely no such thing as a run bug, certainly not in this demo. Defenders playing the ball across the back will then move backwards and/or sideways to remain a passing option.

So, so good. Comfortably the most intelligent football game in history, and arguably the most absorbing. There are still clearly issues with the game as it stands - keepers in particular, and some issues with players locking onto ball paths rather than acting exactly when you want - and it'll be interesting to see if dispossessing players on the ball in 1v1s gets easier (by which I mean less impossible) with practice. Also some issues with the game picking the wrong passes for me, which is particularly jarring when the game is usually following exactly what you intend. Hopefully a lot of this will be tweaked and fixed/improved by the final build.

But even if some of these issues remain, the most impressive thing is the progress the game has made since 2011, which made a lot of progress from 2010. To me, not only is 2012 a must-buy, but this demo makes 2013 an unbelievably exciting prospect.

BTW what happened with acceleration? it doesn't seem like its in the game anymore and it doesn't feel like its in the game either.

Try standing with a player then explose forward or sideways, you react and when you start running ur at ur top speed already, you don't gain speed at all, it doesn't feel good imo.

Aside from the terrible optimisation, I think the game is far from perfect.

Defending effectively is nearly impossible. I've conceded more ridiculous goals in the 40+ minutes I've played PES 2012 than I ever did playing PES 2011 for months! It's so frustrating watching the CPU's attackers whiz past your entire defence so effortlessly. Also, the 'overhead kick from 30 yards out' bug is still present, which is really annoying and utterly unrealistic. If this demo is anything close to the final version, I have to say I feel a bit disappointed.

On the plus side, dribbling is really fun and enjoyable and the off the ball control is a pretty neat feature to have.

Defending is an art form. There's even specific training challenges that teach you that, so, it's supposed to be like that, you're supposed to "suffer".

Yep, I am playing at 2560x1600 and on a 30 inch monitor and it looks very blurry. I don't think it is a resolution issue. Maybe they decreased the texture quality and decreased LOD to make the demo smaller in size. Lets see. Hopefully the full game doesn't have this blur filter.

I wouldn't say "suffering" is the point. It feels more like you couldn't impose yourself by physical presence. I simply don't want it to be an art when a weak player is on the ball and makes his way through Rio Ferdinand, you know what I mean? Rio doesn't need to "wait for the exact moment".

Defending in pes right now is like trying to catch a fish with your bare hands.. (now that is an art).

Hehe, well put. Exactly how I felt when I had some of the attacking players just run straight through Vidic and Ferdinand. Well there's still time for the second demo and final code is two months away minus distribution and disc pressing so... Hopefully it's not a case of "Well the NEXT pes will fix that (and never did)" this year, like it's been the past, what, 5-6 years?

Speed of players just feels weird, no acceleration they run at top speed all the time when they start and I don't feel any difference of speed when trying to catch someone with the ball if I use Pato or Ibrahimovic hm? Like last year catch up bug was no matter what player stats are this year it seems the opposite, why can't KONAMI just make it right and make it depend on speed of players involved.

My thoughts exactly. There's difficult, then there's 'nearly impossible' difficult (one on one situations are simply ridiculous in this demo).

It's all fun and games for now, but I doubt people will continue to see it as an "art form" when they're playing in ML or playing competitively; then it will seem like a chore and just frustrate you and put you off the game.

Holding up play for a fraction of a second with the back to the defender (was trying to do this with Gattuso), pivoting around the ball and a short through ball to create space for the next attacker (I am on full manual passing) felt amazing.

Drew the first game against Man U, 1-1. (Had only the one decent chance. Kepper should have stopped it though.)

Lost the second one 4-0 against Santos.

I thought Top Player and such was supposed to be challenging? The CPU "waltz" through your defense because they're quick to react to tackles and such, not because you're "not there" lol.

Difficult to please everyone isn't it. That's the real challenge.

This game is the shit! I felt the same sensation when PES5 came on PS2.:WORSHIP:

The AI is pure madness, OMG they're alive!

Look at this beauty, never saw this on previous versions:

*Hope the final code fix the keeper reactions and air balls, i felt it a little with helium inside.

Good Konami, very Good!

I do all the waiting and protecting the space a team is suppoused to, in the pitch sectors where I'm suppoused to. The problem is that the AI pushes and forces you into unnecesary attacker/defender duels in places where that shouldn't happen, because PES2012 is aparently based on dribbling rather than strategy and positioning.

Goalkeepers seem to be terrible at saving shots at waist height even if goes right next to them. I also hate the way they sometimes try to dive at the ball with the arm that isn't even closest to the ball. In addition to my complaints about keepers, their positioning is erratic at times as well as them running upright rather than crouching down and moving across goal use side steps to ready themselves for shots. The latter point made me concede a goal when De Gea decided to run to one of the posts to deal with a long shot that took a deflection inside of just moving like a keeper actually would and shimmying over a bit (he fully ran and stood on the post despite players in the box). This is kind of on top of the arguably bad goalkeeping they do anyway.

Plus points. They're alright at saving, or atleast attempting to save, shots that go along the floor which need an outstretched arm.

I also agree with the points on defending. From my 4/5 games i've played it feels like the advantage lies with the attacker, not with the defender. I'm willing to put it down to my own inexperience with the game but right now i find it easier to attack than i do to defend. I hope it doesn't stay this way. The essence of a football match is the attackers trying to break down the resilient defence and hoping to unlock the door.

Honestly, it really takes time I was get murdered by all attacking players but I released the key was to let CPU teammates do their job and defend. Defending looks like it is going to be challenging on Top Player, on Professional it is a little easier. A tip would be to drop down to Professional and practice defending there and then after a few games bump it back up to Top Player.

Please help! Im dying to play with Peñarol but for some reason I dont seem to be able to play at all.

I downloaded and decompressed the files, installed the program and when Im going to play a friendly, right after I choose to go to the team selection PES crashes and some error occurs.

Please help me! Ill be eternally grateful!

Why does Gattuso have crap stats. Hes been crap in PEs for a few years now. Did he upset Konami? Or sign a deal with EA?

Rooney does that because of a skill card he has from what I remember.
