PES 2011 Discussion thread

Probably a bit of a stupid question, but is David Beckham in this game? I've always been a fan of him and the way he plays, but with him out of the England squad and playing for a small club, he may not be in... Would be nice to play some long passes and score some freekicks with him :).

It would be great to have Beckham in my MLO side :D.

he should be in the pes shop with raul and all the other has beens :SMUG:

I'm not sure if I'll play ML on this...

ML has two divisions, 20 teams in each, right? If that's the case, then it will be the 20 Premier League teams in the top division, and 20 completely foreign teams in the one below it, with more and more of them invading your "English" top division as the seasons go on...

On PC (and maybe PS3) there will probably be mods to add the Championship, but with me getting the 360 version, this may not be possible...

I'm usually an online gamer anyway, but I do actually enjoy playing against the CPU on PES 2011...

Is this the first PES you have played?

Pressing R2 after making a pass will also make the passer run on, I think it is used so you can delay the run instead of it happening straight away like the L1 + pass.

I agree, the X + L1 to make the one-two is a classic in any WE/PES game... weird you dont know about it...

It's not my first PES, played a lot of PES 5 and PES 6 on PS2 and never used these techniques cause then they weren't needed, the players made their runs sufficiently.

PES 2008 and 2009 I didn't play beyond the demo, didn't like the games at all. I played for about 7 months PES 2010, it had something, but it was broken, and then I fell back to PES 5.

It's nice to have these techniques to encourage runs, but why are you then against the concept of the triggering runs that Fifa has which is similar?

Regardless encouraging runs of the passer is not the solution for the problem of players stopping their runs too early.

Some of the tracks on the soundtrack aren't too bad, but I will probably create my own playlist :D.

I am getting fed up of using the same 4 teams from the demo! Need the game!!! :(

My crappy 9500GS plays PES2011 at full detail 1680x1050...So I can bet your PC cant be worst...

I've considered downloading the demo, but PES 2010 was barely playable on the very lowest detail and lowest resolution on my laptop... I kind of figured it wouldn't be worth it :P.

Even PES3/4/5/6 suffer occasional slowdown on it .

It has a decent CPU and RAM but onboard graphics, so it's not really for gaming, except for FM which runs pretty well...

My impression was that with the usb-update this year for the 360, this wouldn't be a problem anymore. No?

Not sure, I havn't used that feature yet myself, hopefully you're right.

I've heard rumours from my friends though that using downloaded option files can disable achievements (not too bothered about that) and get you banned from Xbox Live (which I am more bothered about...).

Is there any truth to that? I hope not :CONFUSE:

My expectations for this game have been lowered, from post PES 2010 release till now. I expected the game to be a bigger step up from the predecessor.

I'm still seeing some of the same annoyances in the full release videos as I have experienced with the demo.

I did a lot of stat editing with 2010 to make the game playable, and hoped I wouldn't have to do the same again this year, as it takes ages to get right. But seeing the ball lazer from one pass to the next has me concerned that Konami still don't get it. The ball doesn't look and feel as free as it should, there's very little bobble or bounce to the physics. The keepers are still clearly awful, and no animations improvements have been made.

-1 and -2 speed changes aren't enough to address the issues in the game.

I gave the game more praise when I first played the demo, but since then the problems are just becoming a bit too obvious.

My card costs like 50 euros brand new...Not a bank breaker IMO...

Rob your way behind there were plenty of safe option files before the USB option. The USB option just made it easier your tranfering edit data and not someones option file so it never registers Anyones gamertsg data or achievements etc do it's completely safe I did this all last year. I used to always buy the uk version for option files but with the xbox 360 files being region free we dont have to and it's easier to install them with USB. The only problem is there's less for xbox but you always have a championship file and an mls if u care.

Great news, I have a Jtagged xbox so it wont be a problem.
BTW I LOVE your sigs embraceuk1, the other one was class also LOL

Auto cross has always been in PES, why wouldnt it be in this one?
If you dont like it dont use it, I dont, use L2+:circle:. An opponent using it is also not an automatic goal, I dont see what the big deal is.

always been in PES? did you atart playing PES in PES2008 and above? :APPLAUD:

there has always been an option to use default manual crossing in button configurations. it just made it much more challenging and manual. my mates are really gna be surprised by this omission.

Level7.nu
Konami has finally found what they were missing during the last years - the magnificent gameplay. This year the players are smarter, the passes have more freedom and a lot of the game modes has been tweaked to the better. PES is back.

Are Copa Libertadores player available in MLO. That is the big question I think...

yes they are, which is excellent. search for argentine players - you will get shitloads of them ;)

disappointing:

no copa libertadores possible with boca or river. they are in "other south american teams" and therefore can not be selected in the competition :TTTH::TTTH::RANT:

That's just unfathomable

Sorry guys, but how is it unfathomable, and how did they "miss" something? Boca Juniors or River Plate did not qualify for the Copa Libetadores 2010, so they weren't included. I guess part of the licensing agreement between Konami and the people behind the Copa Libetadores was that other teams could not be added.

Hey, at least Konami actually bothered to include Boca, River & the other team (Santos, was it?), they could've replaced them with other teams.

You're complaining about nothing to be honest. 40 teams from Copa Libetadores is great, at least they got the license for it, seriously, some of you are never satisfied, you make it sound like Konami forgot to include teams in the competition or something!
