PES 2011 Discussion thread

Well I hate posting this here cause I know how some of the forums dwellers are but..

Your thoughts? The game looks a little too calm and controlled to be Fifa but it doesn't look too bad, I can barely make out the differences to Fifa 10 though.
Gamescom videos didn't exactly favor the game.

Its 360 version, looks like 2010 from what i see. Entrance is great. It feels like every player is the same there is no difference among them. Kaka goal is plastic, he wasnt prepared and in a good position to take such a shoot. Ball is still floaty. Im so glad and happy i wont have to play Fifa this year, PES is back and after three years we can finally play the real footbal online with no lags. Anyway, waiting for both demos. Cheers

Fifa never attached it's revolutions to a meaningful football experience. That's the problem for me and others here.

Doesn't matter. Point is that a lot of people played FIFA and then simply couldn't enjoy PES 2010 as it felt so horrifically backward by comparison. It may have had much the same tactical gameplay and individuality that 2011 does but for those who played FIFA extensively it felt like attaching that to Dragon's Lair. Everything Jimmy and theCRO listed when describing the culture shock of going back to 2010 is what FIFA regulars were thinking off the bat.

My point being, hopefully those of you who have played 2011 and gone back to 2010 understand why 2010 was completely unapproachable and unsatisfying for most of us who had grown used to things like manual passing or 360 dribbling. PES is still a long way off 'total' freedom but at least it's not imprisoned within that d-pad mindset and button lag you could measure with a calendar not a stopwatch.

The problem with FIFA is that its not even trying to simulate football, but it is great arcade game with superb online, and PES serie is in deep shit. Thats it.

Youve hit the nail on the head there rom as this is how i feel.Never played a fifa game prior to fifa10 as i stuck with pes2008/2009 and we cc 2008 on the ps2,however going back to pes2010 and blue samuri after playing fifa for a long period of time is like stepping back in time, much as theCRO eludes too,the scripting and automation of the gameplay becomes glaringly obvious and renders pes2010 almost unplayable.

Ive felt like this for over ten years, hoping that some of the freedom of control and freedom of movement via the analog stick from the iss days on the n64 would start to be gradually re-introduced back into pes.It never happened, the gameplay never really evolved and i was pretty confident i would have to endure many more years of 8-way movement and passing mechanics that were totally stat driven, joined up by the cpu and required no real manual dexterity from the user.

Reading jimmys, theCro,yours and many other impressions from the MLO beta mostly sends shivers down my spine as its what ive wanted from a pes game for over a decade now.

Am i greatfull to EA,hell yeah, they brought back freedom of moment and user defined control of passing, something thats been missing from this genre for too long, which has forced konami too follow suit. The beauty is from what ive read and seen, konami in pes2011 have done this without sacrificing what makes there product unique,a real blessing.

it c*nt be true :( whyy, it has to be this week

Konami and their PES demos! I just hope we get a close to final build or I do not want one at all as I am almost certain to pick it up on release and ditch Fifa for good!

Going head-to-head with FIFA then. Bold step really, if they give us (fifa players) an extra week we can get used to the different style and start to enjoy it. Now we'll generally give each a game a quick go and then focus on the fifa improvements....as pes just feels "odd". Was hoping to have the demo a week earlier as I'm getting really pissed off with FIFA/EA and PES is finally looking like a worthwhile game again. Really excited by PES tbh.

I feel the same

Does anyone here knows when the WENB is going up again? I think they have a nice information for us regarding the demo. BTW they´re supposed to be up at 7 AM, lol.

Can someone tweet J. Murphy, and ask him about the demo? The man has said this week we will have news about the so expected demo, but nothing from anyone until now
