PES 2011 Discussion thread

The one thing I have noticed more and more is the lack of standard volleys in the Beta. They does seem to an awful lot of the side Scissor Kick animation, even at a lower height. I have only ever hit the target once with this type of shot, but I like to see more variation. I'm sure there will be though in the final retail code. :)

I've managed to do some "standard" volleys :D There was a video of the MLO around somewhere on Youtube where the guy scored some volleys.
 
Everybody has the right to say what he thinks about the game, even if it is not an objective opinion.

For me only one thing counts: If you have serious critics about PES MLO then tell Konami in the questionaire at the end of the testing period!
Konami are the only who need to know your complaints. Only if you do that, your critics are constructive.

I've seen very few, or no-where near enough. Even my defenders are trying them off corners, but to be fair, they are ending up outside of the stadium. :LOL:

I scored a cracking left foot volley with Luque, smashed into the top corner, but they are very few and far between. Not something to worry about at the moment, I'm sure it will be addressed.

Oh how I wish I'd filmed the volley I scored against tobi. It was one of those lashed dipping volleys from the edge of the 'D' that had a wicked topspin on it and just fell under the bar and above the keepers' hands. It looked very realistic, like it was hit with pure venom.
 
I know that video of Messi scoring a daisy cutter from 30 yards is unrealistic but in truth the GK was on the other side of the goal to where the shot ended up (right in the corner) and GK's struggle much more with getting down low to save shots that are on the floor. I'm not trying to endorse the goal because the amount of speed on the shot (arguably what made it go in) was way stupid but the type of shot it was and it's accuracy weren't wholely unrealistic.

Basically a shot on the floor shouldn't have that much power from 30 yards in general. Not to say it cannot possible have that much power, but it's just highly unlikely top beat the keeper from that far out.

People on here piss me off. Im sorry but its fucking clear the beta is an old code. The preview code looked miles better. And apprently the final code is a bigger improvement. Just wait until you play the demo. If you want to moan about the beta code do it else were because now its really boring.
 
I dont like the rails when playing a through ball. Why can't I run to the ball the way I like. So i can recieve the ball from the side to immidietly change the direction when recieving instead of running behind him -.-

I am tired of using the super control every time I play a through ball...

Or when I see the defender gets the ball first and I know the direction he will go when recieving the ball (cause it is a rail) I want to intercept him and want to go away from my rail.

In Gamescom code the rail thing still exists :( looks like I have to use supercontrol all time again in this pes.
 
Ok not to the normal manager mode and talking about the general gameplay.

How diverse will scorelines and different teams tactics be. I'be just seen one of the best games of the season already. Leverkusen 3-6 Mochengladbah there was about 5 goals which happened pretty much back to back with eachover!

Do you think we will get a huge variety of matches, some are highly tactical, cagey, the AI being cautions and defensive with you feeling to be the same do to your teams ability, and some games where the AI just get's their tactics wrong and you give them a good kicking! Do you thinkt he changes from PE 2010 will help this?

I had this in PES 2010 quite a bit, that's what i enjoyed about that game. Each match having it's own challenge. Just with some games, it's like your playing the same match over and over again, just with different kit's and teams!

Yes they have to tone it down and it makes the game feel cheap and weak. That is not freedom.

I just don't feel it. Maybe I have my PES glasses on, and I can't manage to take them off, but I found myself not needing to use Super Cancel. I don't get on rails with through balls... Oh well. I'm not saying I feel "100% freedom", but "80%", yes.
 
When i do a through ball the play just runs in the same line i cannot use my analogues to move him to intercept a different line. Surely you have felt that. Plus how do you super cancel.

R1+R2. It depends, there are times where you can intercept balls without using Super Cancel, others you can't. I've even heard some people complain that they had too much "freedom" in the players positioning.

Whoever made up their minds and do not like PES already then do us a favor and stop trolling. If you can't help it then stop posting here.

Whoever finds negatives in PES, please point out what is it you don't like about it constructively. It's not hard. It's for a better conversation.

Yes I did played the beta. I thought you were talking about the beta.
 
Passing is better than 2010, don't think they're shot from a cannon at all. Also some passes do have a bit of curl to them, think it depends on the type of pass, like more or less power and player stat.

Lami, I haven't played any of the beta code so I can't really judge, but from watching all the videos I am a bit worried about the physics of the ground passes, particularly low passes into open space: Maybe it's only me, and maybe it's not an issue while actually playing, but it appears to me that the ball slows down unnaturally towards the end of its trajectory instead of just bobbling along (as you would expect), almost as if it had a build-in hand brake. Someone on WENB aptly said, that it feels like the ball was filled with water instead of air. What's your take on that actually having played the code?
