PES 2011 Discussion thread

Look how the 4th pass just goes through the defender's leg! And the 5th pass, a perfect one-touch pass while the passer is being jostled off the ball. Very realistic indeed...not.
 
A lot of people are being harsh, the game looks and plays a lot better than it does on the vids.

I have played about 8 games on top player and scored just 4 goals and conceded 7. This game is difficult, not helped by the keepers saving shots that you think are destined for the net. I have seen 1 mistake in 8 games when the keeper helped the ball towards the goal instead of pushing it wide but it hit the post and I cleared it off the line.

The PU AI is really good they try to make you play to your teams weakness for example I was Barcelona and the AI stopped me going out wide by doubling up on Messi and Pedro

The freedom you have now is beyond anything in PES before and maybe in FIFA. The animations are fluid and response times are perfect.

If you see a pass you can attempt it but it may not come off as you need to get the power and the aim near perfect depending on the player you have.

The best bits of the game are the shooting animations which look superb and the speed is just perfect. Also the dribbling and physical play really stands out now. I did a 30 yard shoulder barge contest between Lahm and Pedro and it was even all the way seeing as they are the same size.

The only negatives are the graphics look slightly grainy but they always get downgraded to keep DL size small and they are still a few weird looking animations.

That was not a error, the goalkeeper was turning toward the goal and walking casually as if he is just entering the pitch. So which real life keeper does the same when the attacker approaches in the 18 yard box?

Either it can be a low difficulty level or a bug. But in low difficulty levels the GK never steps out of the goal line.

So PES 2011 Goalkeeper = :FAIL:
The saves you see in many videos are also present in PES 2010, but it may have different animation. Still the ball rebounds from the keeper many times, GK never takes 2 steps for saving instead he jumps from the standing spot, so if he gets the ball its a save, else its a goal.


EDIT : I came to the conclusion from the videos I've seen so far, But it may be different or I may be wrong.

Just played my first game. It's the first PES in YEARS where it actually plays totally differently to the last rather than just having a new lick of paint.

I was Bayern vs Barca. They went 2-0 up after scoring a freekick and then scoring from a keeper error (should have caught it but parried it straight out)I then pulled one back just after half time with a nice header from a cross.

Like the new camera, but the new formation screen will take some getting used to!

Yeah, but did you see how quick he made that volley?
No momentum whatsoever. Just wham bam slam animation.

Not judging the game untill i've played the demo myself but these types of goals i just don't like.
 
Notice when there's videos demonstrating good saves idiots like polakis say nothing but he's moaning about the negatives! I haven't seen any real issues yet! Even the rainbow flick thing seems sorted (still easy to pulll off but i doesn't get you past anyone!)

Seriously, a pass is not a miracle, it should not become a chore, even amateurs can pass properly.

Now if a football game requires more skill to do something as simple as a pass than in real life then it's exaggerated.

Can somebody please tell me why anybody would catch feelings over a discussion on a video game. Positive or negative I dont understand why gamers take it so personally.
