So its better if I keep only the 720p ticked in PS3?
1080p looks noticeably better on my TV but use what you think is best. Either way your PS3 or TV will end up scaling the output.

Its great to hear the jog bug has been fixed.According to some sources the touchline bug is off the final version...even Jon Murphy at his twitter says something about it. Even at WEblog they are already talking about it.
I think it's going to be a year of PES back again...I GUESS.
JUST for INFO:
Eurogamer that has already reviewed FIFA 11 is mentioning the oddness of this year FIFA.
On the reverse IGN Uk gave FIFA 11 9.5/10!!!! I think it's a little bit overrated, but like I said i've just played the demos...LOL. If you check in the side the user score is in 7.4...LOL again.

I was just hesitant about purchasing the PC or PS3 version of PES 2011...but right now I just don't know again.
Can anyone explain to me why they took the L1 feature out - when you're in possession of the ball, you tap L1 (I think) and your team mate ahead of you makes a run so you can time a well-placed through ball!!
FIFA is a huge marketing power...it's normal that it has higher standards in visual technique. Look at the FIFA World Cup game presentation...it's a massive game only by looking at it. EA is perfect in recreating the mood that breeds in a football match but...PES is better (I hope by the DEMO...it seems to be) in recreating what it is playing the game, it's better in recreating the difference between a Lampard and a Deco, between a Miccoli and a Luca Toni...it's like Konami gives us the engine for the players to be the stars and not the presentation by itself.
wow!! well put.. couldn't have stated it better myself.

Thanks.
Here in Portugal there's a huge fanbase of PES. I've only put aside last year's title because in my opinion FIFA was better. But this year PES is back to that old feeling. It seems odd that not everyone feels the same thing for a franchise that deserves credit.
And sometimes we still see someone say that FIFA is the real football simulator, FIFA is enjoyment, PES is glory, but a hard one to apreciate and especially to master.
Ok so we have Assisted, Semi-Assisted or Manual.
Is there a mode that is Manual but you take control of the player once you get the ball?
So with Manual as is right now, if I pass to someone on my team, I also have to manually take control of the pass receipiant... which kinda pisses me off.
I'm 99.99% sure that at some point in the PES history there was a manual mode where control did shift automatically to the guy receiving the pass, am I remembering that wrong?
No you're right. That was the only way I played PES and that was perfect. Switching was great as well and couldn't play it any other way. I have the slightest idea why they changed that and and it the way it is. It's too much work.
No, i think it's still there. You have to press L1 and pass. This will pass to your chosen player and the passer will then continue forward. You can then choose to pass, lob or through ball, to him.
Yeah that way does work, but in past versions you could just press L1 whilst you have the ball, then the next closest team mate ahead of you will make a run without having to make a pass first. It was brilliant! No reason why they should have taken that out of the game... Hopefully they'll put it back in!
Not that I have ever known. R2 after the pass is the only to manually set him on a run, with the obvious exception of the one-two.
I'm confused as to what R2 does differently than L1?
Yup, and just to be clear, in PES you're sending on a run player that has (had) the ball (either with L1+X or with R2). In FIFA, L1 sends nearby teammate without the ball on a run.
So i decided to get the WE 2011 demo as well, cuz i read it differs from the PES 2011 demo.
And it does differ, it seems it's more fluid and just feels better overall.
Shooting feels different too (somewhat heavier compared to PES 2011) and player switching now seems to make way more sense.
Also the AI defending/attacking is also more varied/agressive..
I think the sideline (near box) bug is still in it, but to a way lesser extent because the AI defending is just better overall. Imo it doesn't seem (as) broken as was stated with the PES 2011 demo.
Barely seen the advantage rule get applied.. not that there were so many instances where the CPU or myself got a clear advantage after a foul tho..
Oh and I read on here that in PES 2011 demo (some?) off-the-ball tackles were going unpunished.. well that clearly isn't the case in the WE 2011 demo, tho i can't confirm this for PES 2011 cuz i didn't really do off-the-ball tackles.
I just played a few games, but boy this feels better than the PES 2011 demo.
Tho i really enjoyed the PES 2011 demo, it felt somewhat static compared to the WE 2011 demo. It just feels (and even looks?) more polished, fluid, responsive and more dynamic/intuitive.
I'm anxiously looking more & more forward to the actual full game!
Jon Murphy or what's his name, saying that the PES 2011 demo is based on the full game is a load of crap that's for sure.. Maybe the WE 2011 demo, but no way the PES 2011 version.
Other people on here tried the WE 2011 demo?
What are your thoughts?...
L1 and X intiates a one-two from the get-go.
X or Circle, or Through-ball then R2 gives you the option to make the player run, 'after' the ball has left your foot. For instance, if you ping a 50 yard cross field pass, and then decide you want the player that has hit the pass to move forward, then press R2, but you have to do this, BEFORE the ball reaches the next player. It's like a delayed, last minute decision to send the man on a run.
Yup, and just to be clear, in PES you're sending on a run player that has (had) the ball (either with L1+X or with R2). In FIFA, L1 sends nearby teammate without the ball on a run.
I am 100% sure that you could send a player on a run (like on FIFA) by pressing the L1 button, without having the need of passing the ball first. I used to use it all the time in the old PES games. I think every PES game before 2007 had it, and I have no idea why they got rid of it!
If anyone still has an old Ps2 game, ie. PES 5, give it a go - just press L1 whilst you have the ball and watch the team mate ahead of you make a run...
Thanks. That's kinda what I'd been guessing but wasn't confident. I think I'm still too early into getting comfortable again with PES to take advantage of the R2 runs. Is it a function that you find helpful and used frequently? I imagine it's primary use is for accompanying long passes, when you have time to make a decision?
My wife found the commentators hilarious in the first editions i played (PES1 and 2).
Afterwards when they (very slowly) where beginning to sound a litle bit better, she thought they were by far less funny.
I remember there used to be a line about the weather that they kept on repeating...that was so hilarious...
"The sun is beaming down and the wind is sweeping through the stadium..."
Haha.
