PES 2009 vs 2010?

I understand what you mean about vs CPU OFFLINE (I don't play online much either)- it does seem easier to score down the middle and the CPU pings the ball around instead of really attacking you. BUT I do prefer 10 to 9 overall esp. as I've just graduated to professional level and still have world class to go!

2009 for me the game is fast paced

10 is too damn slow :(
On what platform you playing? I presume your playing it on PC. And it isn't slow, it is just right. Yes it seems very slow when you have previously played an ice hockey game where the puck was flying like a plane from one side to the other.
Try putting the resolution to a lower one and set 4:3 instead of 16:9 aspect ratio then you will see an improvement, this applies to low end graphics cards. On stronger graphics cards you should not expect slow downs.
PES 10 is not too damn slow, how about playing NHL 10 if you want?:LMAO:

Look at the back cover of the pes 2010 case it says "increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems"

CPU AI in pes 2010 is total bullshit comparing to pes5,6, 2008 and 2009...
Yes, I totally agree with that!
CPU is definitely worser.
However, this doesn't bother me since I play PES 2010 mostly 90% of the times online.

The opponents online are tougher than any difficulty level in PES. Whether Regular or Top Player, it beats them all!!!

How are people finding the absence of the attack, defense setting arrows for ind. players. I find the new system of cards quite rubbish pesonally as it limits what i can do to my own formation i feel.

Defence level is replaced by the first card. You can set every player to 'attack minded' , 'balanced' or 'defence minded' . It's the same. Arrows are indeed gone but i find it not that bad. Players play on their positions. AMF acts like AMF, CMF like CMF etc.

2010 is miles ahead of 2009 imo. Nothing to compare. First next gen pes that i actually enjoy.

2010 has it's faults. Every game does. But it blows 2009 out of the water. I binned that after two weeks.

With the tweaks planned on the stats for goalkeepers, pass speed, curling accuracy etc etc and hopefully we can get superstar level permanently unlocked it promises to be a great year of PES ahead. :BOP:

my 1st impressions about the game was so good and i thought that the response issues were completely disappeared

but after playing the game for about one week , i discovered that that response issues are still there , they are just hidden but the more i play the more i notice them

konami couldn't fix the response issues that were marked in the demo due to the new motion capture systems but instead of solving such issues they increased the speed of the game to just cover and hide them away from ur eyes but they still there

the most item that make these response issues shiny and welll marked are :
1-the one touch passes
2-the 1st time shoots

u can NOT do a one touch pass in pes 2010 unless u pressed the pass button very early while the ball in its way from the 1st player to the second one

BUT if the distance between the 2 players is too small , and suddenly the u see the ball toward the second player it will be impossible to do a one touch pass or one touch shoot (if in front of the goal) so that the player will do an inevitable one EXTRA touch before doing any pass or shoot action

yesterday i did a quich comparison between pes 2010 , pes 2009 and fifa 2009 and the results were really disappointing

although i don't like fifa at all , but i find the response times in fifa were amazing so that i could perform a one touch pass by pressing the button even when the ball is about to reach the 2nd player

also in pes 2009 the response times were excellent and very slightly below fifa 2009

but in pes 2010 the results were so bad

i performed the above tests with different resolutions and i triend to exclude the fast pace of the game that are highly masking the response issue that are hiding inside

Just found this comparison on amazon dot com with this guy complaining about WE8 a game alot of you'll have agreed is one of the best:
By Dream King - See all my reviews
I have been a huge fan of WE7 and I was definitely expecting at least slightly better gameplay for this one. I am deeply disappointed. This game makes me think of crashing my laptop on a regular basis and there is not enough words for the frustration I am having.

The first thing I noticed was the more fluent controls the game has compared with WE7. But the following days, as I started to get deeper into the game, I noticed lots of problems with the game:

1) The success rate of penalties in the game for a difficulty of 3 stars is around 1/3. Every time you are awarded a penalty you are having a few seconds of happiness just to watch the keeper punch the ball back to the field. You want to run to the ball which is just a few meters away before the defence but the player just rejects to move. Other times, the player just kicks the penalty outside.

2) There is no randomness in the game, as opposed to WE7. For example if you approach from the same angle on a one on one with the keeper, you always get the same result. After playing the game for 2 weeks, I clearly know what is gonna happen even before i make the move.

3) The keeper is 5 times a "human" keeper, which reminded me of the early EA sports FIFA series. In WE7, if you are very close to the post and shoot it, the keeper just watches the ball go in, which is very realistic. In this game keeper shows a super-human strength and saves it. Especially if you like scoring from outside, WE8 is not the game for you.

4) One good thing about WE8, compared with WE7 is, the bookings are very realistic. You don't get random yellows and you always get a booking when you (feel like you) deserve it.

5) Menus are very fast which was not the case in WE7. This is maybe the only thing I liked about WE8.

6) In WE7, in a one on one situation, the players that are chasing you could not reach you easily. In this one, unless you make a "super-hiper" dribble (which takes a couple of seconds to accelerate), they catch you like a chicken. Usually you hit the keeper before you get into that accelerated mode, so basically there is no easy "one to one" in the game, which is not realistic.

7) Headers from the post area, if the player is marked by another player, always goes high above the post. There is no slight randomness in it. The only way to score from a corner is to send the long pass before the defence gets into position. The fact that scoring is not possible after the defence gets into position, is very unrealistic.

8) There was a huge problem with player cursor selection in WE7. If you hope they fixed it, you are quite wrong. The player closest to the ball is selected regardless of the key being pressed. As a result, you press "down" hoping that the player above the ball will run down towards the ball, but what happens is the game chooses the player below the ball and you end up moving that player away from the ball. Then to fix it you press "up" and this time the game selects the upper player and you end up moving this player too away from the ball. The opponent is one to one with the keeper in the end. This happens almost in every game. As an amateur programmer, I can see that it is very simple to fix that by just taking into consideration the key being pressed. I don't know what Konami people were thinking when they were programming it...

As my last words. Don't buy this game. Instead buy WE7. If you already have WE7, don't ever give it away to your friend hoping than WE8 would be better. I did it and I'm in pain. It is much realistic than WE8 and FIFA-2005. If you have FIFA-2005, WE8 can be a slight upgrade (definitely not in terms of graphics).
Does history teaches us something? I dunno just my observation.
